Tiers of Medals

    Hey Brawl!

    So many of you may not know, but I take MCJROTC (Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps) as a class for high school. Now, for the Marines, there are ribbons that are worn over your heart on ribbon racks on dress uniforms. These ribbons can be earned multiple times. So, for example, if I were to recieve the Outstanding Drill Cadet ribbon, I would simply get the ribbon. Done.

    But what if I earned the ribbon again? Well, there's a sort of tier system to it. If I were to earn the Outstanding Drill Cadet ribbon AGAIN, I would receive a little bronze star that gets placed over the ribbon, signifying I've earned the ribbon twice. Three is silver, and four is gold.

    Now, here at Brawl, you can only earn the same medal once. I myself have won Sponsored Literature many times, but only have one medal. Maybe there could be a tier system like the one used for Marine Corps medals here for forums badges and medals?

    That's a really good idea imo, but not sure how it'd work out with the limited medal editing. Maybe for the number if you've done more than 2 you could have a small dot in the top right corner (or star) with the bronze silver and gold, as you mentioned for 2, 3, and 4. Lol you could even get the Former staff medal tiers too. Not sure how it'd work for the featured brawler and builder tho, seeming once you once, you won't be picked again. +1 tho nice idea.

    But seriously, this would be a good idea. How do you suggest going about this? If this happens, it will probably require some artwork to be done and maybe some extra backend coding

    I like the idea as well. It's definetely worth to add this, as it gives players motivation to keep their good work up, e.g. you with your stories.

    +1 for this. If not possible, atleast add a number showing the amount of medals you've earned somewhere visible near the medal.

    It could be a little star system under the medal. The medal itself signifies earning it once, and you can earn it up to three times after that with three stars. When your mouse hovers over the player's medal, it will say e.g. Report Champion, or Report Champion x2, et cetera.

    Very good idea actually. To my mind it would persuade players to work more to get them multiple times.
    I also like the idea adding a "star system" to show the number of times you've earned this specific medal.

    xD the JROTC ribbon system is what got the gears turning on this, so hopefully it can happen.

    Wow. Fab idea Glock. I totally agree and support this idea. After all, your sponsored literature metal would be like...diamond. :open_mouth:

    I'd also like to see a trophy for most posts, most ratings, etc. The trophies would move around to the person who currently holds the most of that kind of thing.

    Back to your idea, I think it'd be a super awesome addition, because people should be able to get more than one medal, it shows how hard you work on the things you've achieved. ^-^

    Also, @UraniumHG, I know you were joking, but I think that "Most Denied" medal would be a cool addition. I know it seems silly to have a medal for something that isn't a great thing, but it shows great amounts of persevered. The only problem I see with it is people could spam applications just to get them denied and have that medal. With a few tweaks I actually think it'd be really cool.

    More cosmetic stuff for the forums is always fun! ^-^
