I'm not sure I've met another person on here who was professionally diagnosed and medicated like I was, but for those on here who do have adhd, you could probably totally relate to what I have to say. For those that don't think adhd exists or that it's made up, that could be true. However, I'd like to argue that I've tried very much so to concentrate on something for longer than like 20 minutes and I just can't. Regardless of how many times I was yelled at, I wasn't able to. But this isn't about that specifically. One way I help control the urge to just get up in a classroom and run around and talk, or how I keep myself at least partly focused is to write exactly what I'm thinking about at that given moment. This is what I wrote when I was in high school.

Did you ever stop to think about how pointless it is to have an eraser on your pen? I mean, the idea is genius but honestly having it on the actual pen doesn't make much sense. The cap gets in the way of the eraser, so you have to take it off, which can cause you to lose your cap then. Annoying, right? Well rip. Not paying attention in class like at all. I think he's talking about circuits or something. Nope, now it's magnets. Just kidding, now it's a story. I mean, it's cool to listen to it, but boring as heck to sit here for 3 hours. Like really, who thought that this was a good idea. Do you think that person running outside is hot? He's wearing a hoodie and it's almost summer. I hope it isn't cold today. I wanna take Mask for a walk. I wonder if he misses me. Probably. I'm hungry. Ooooo I wanna play league when I get home! I won't be able to if brandon comes over cuz he hates league, but if that's the case I'll make him help me with my map editing. I wanna go so badly. I could. We aren't talking about much right now... no. That's silly. Just used my eraser and see?! I've lost my cap! Oh nevermind I found it. Ok I think he stopped talking for a minute.
So that's one of the main ways I handled my adhd when I was in between pill times. If anyone else here has adhd, you should say how you handled it so I can compare! ^-^ ok bai! :3

I am easily distracted and have difficulty focusing. I also can't really sit still, and most of the time, I like moving around.
I took this test which is pretty interesting. https://psychcentral.com/quizzes/addquiz.htm

I scored a total of 39 which is pretty high.

I often can't sit still, and move around a lot (mostly at school). I also talk a lot which made my teachers hate me :/. I have difficulty focusing, but when I focus, I get the work done very well. It takes around half an hour for me to focus but after that I get my work done way before the others in my school class. Does someone have some tips how to focus easier?

I don't believe I have difficulties to remain focused, but I can lose my time doing stuff that is not worth it at all.

There are more quizzes to try -- click "Conditions". You might have one of them.
I will take them all in case I have any of them to worry about.

I can focus on things that I find interesting. I find that if there is legit nothing else to do I can focus 100% on school and get it done really fast. If I have my phone near me or anything, forget it bro. I'm homeschooled if you couldn't tell. Basically school is pointless and boring and I would rather be working and making money or just plain working to learn stuff that will actually be useful for me later in life, like how to build a house. Sorry for the rant. I'll edit in my score for the test later.
    Edit:
You scored a total of 20

    Inattention Subscale: 11
    Hyperactivity/Impulsivity Subscale: 9

On the test I got 32. I think I got this high score mainly because of my inability to focus on things I truly don't care about and that happens a lot with school. When I'm in school for example, and I think of something, I can get distracted quite easily.

    You scored a total of : 32
    Inattention subscale : 15
    Hyperactivity/impulsivility subscale : 17

We all want to be like you.

Keep in mind, if you're just a kid and are getting a high score, it could just be related to that, being a kid.
Although, if you are an adult like me and @_featherpaw_ and are getting a high score, there maybe something wrong with you. However, that doesn't mean you need medicine. I'm doing just fine without any medicine.

I scored a bit better than I would've a few years ago because I've spent a few years finding ways to counter my focus problems.

You scored a total of 29
    Inattention Subscale: 17
    Hyperactivity/Impulsivity Subscale: 12

I was diagnosed with ADD and medicated around 2013, but when I couldn't afford meds I found things that helped, mostly outside of school though.

    - Minimizing distractions: no wall decor, no desktop wallpaper.

    - Minimized my belongings... "If I don't own it, I don't have to clean it up, and I can't lose it somewhere."
    - I place my cell phone and my car keys in the exact same spots every day to not lose them.
    - I park in the exact same area at the store or at work or school so I don't lose my car.
    - Meditation when desperate.
When the noise in my head gets really bad, I use guided meditations to clear the cross-wiring in my brain. Sometimes my head gets overloaded and I have to force myself to try to clear it out. I used to think meditation was some new-agey bs, but it legitimately has helped.

    - Block out noise. Ear plugs are awesome.
Every single little sound distracts me, so I either work in quiet or I have to find music without a super distinct melody because everything from pop music to classical will take my brain out of what I'm doing.
Binaural beats (it takes a couple minutes, but then my brain zones into whatever I'm doing and I'm in work mode.)
Braindance music - Aphex Twin is a good example; if you want background music while working on something this provides sound without being super distracting. It seems kind of out there at first, but I enjoy it.

And exercise helps when I'm not being lazy, but mehhhh.
