There's easy ways to use water in world edit, when I was a builder i didn't even have access to water/lava so I just had to bypass it.

 

Yeah just //move or //copy and //paste it or use other ways. Also as a tip: if you want to fill a big area with water, place water randomly around the area and //fixwater and it will fill the area.

 

Then it's not static

 

??? I don't think you understand how easy it is to do it with world edit

 

The thing I don't understand is that the main reason lava, potion, redstone, and water was blocked was due to lag. With the new replacement of WE with async, lag is no longer as big an issue, so I don't understand why these items are still blocked. @Rhoske can you she'd some light?

 

Potions fair enough, lava and water is for griefing reasons, and redstone isn't actually blocked

 

Setting Lava/Water/Redstone isn't the issue. It's the block updates they cause that is. Fawe can set all these blocks no problem but afterward when something triggers these blocks to update in large amounts is what causes immense lag on the server.

Potions, however, I have no clue why they're blocked.

I used to use this technique too. So basically, currently, this is the only way to set water or lava.

Lava and water are disabled and blocked for obvious reasons such as the one @Rhoske included above and the fact that they can cause a lot of server lag.

 

Could you work your smod magic then and compromise and let us use potions then please? They'd be absolutely amazing for testing ctf, infection tag, and smoke monster maps for game play and ooms
