New Clan Rule (Should be...)

    So then

    I've made the basics of this idea in a previous thread, but today I decided to write it down for real. Because this is needed, this is a fact, and not a question on which we should hesitate for a year.

    I've been watching and examining the community on war, the amount of players during weekdays and weekends. Obliviously, on the weekends, every server has more players on. And even though we have more players than in october-november, or we can even say, "war is coming alive", sometimes I witness new members raging out or a bunch of players leaving after a match. And everybody says that gungame and ffa are the most specific ones we lose player count at, but I noticed something else. Yes, the online member count drops after these gamemodes, but it does after almsot every other gamemode as well, ESPECIALLY after a match of 30-40 players.

    And here comes the twist. Because I have watched roughly every name who left after a game. And at gungame, ffa, mostly the more skilled players, around 40+ and above leave, while at ctf and tdm (and infect, but that is another problem which I'm not going towards atm) every time the newbyes, the clanless players, the ones who usually get spawncamped leave. And why? Because even if we tell them the opposite team is strong because they are in one clan, when they try to join there they get denied automaticly, because they don't fulfill the requirements.

    My idea is simple:
    1. I want volunteers from the good, active and well-known players (if it could be, mostly 60+ and 100+) to create new clans, with different requirements (lvl, kdr, handpicked, even just "jokeclans" like iSuk), and recruit players, mostly from the newcomers.
    2. What is my goal with this? Well, here comes the part which I will get the most hate for. But I'm gonna say it... Cut up the crowdclans. You all know what I'm talking about. GSG, PR0, Ryze, DUSK, etc... (especially the first two, that I can think of). "Get rid of" the few hundred members who are in these clans, and they join there because the smaller clans can't rise up in the shadows of the crowdclans, and they will always want to go to the "good players". Well then, let's split up these "good players", and don't let them all get into one clan (don't take this word-by-word, please...), and let the others decide where they all want to go.
    3. To avoid creating new crowdclans, a new community-war-rule should be made, as of limiting the amount of players in one clan. This can be decided, 25 (we would need lots of clans for that, but it would be good), 50, or 100. And please, don't come to me with the bullcrap like "This can't be coded", "The code is outdated", "Who would look after this rule and the rulebreakers?". So what? If we, the players who play this game, don't do anything to change the game and make it better, who will? All respect to the coders, but they, who barely play the game they make?
    Before going on, let me get you guys some pros and cons out for and against this idea:

    +:
    • Reduced spawncamping in the games
    • New players will always have a clan to join in -> more reason to play (?)
    • Much, MUCH more challanging for everyone
    • Balanced games

    • ...
    • No more 700+ member clans, I guess?
    • "The decline of some Historical clans" duh...
    • ...
    • I literally can't think about any other cons

    Look guys. If once in my lifetime, now I'm gonna be serious. The noobs, the new players joining the server, are War's and every other servers' future. Without them, Brawl dies for good. And we, you are the only ones who can help them and convince them to stay. The community is the engine (or heart) of a server, not the gameplay.
    This, what I wrote down, is a living, real problem. If we don't fix it, war might die even more.
    I apprechiate (or whatever is that word) every single feedback, opinion, idea, but I don't want to hear ONE SINGLE (frickin) BUT in your comments! No "Yes the idea is good, BUT...", "Yes you are right, BUT..."... I've had enough of these "but"s in my life. Either agree, either disagree, or just stay out ofthe conversation, but don't try to be kind here.
    And also, don't try to back up just because others, maybe the majority doesn't follow this, or because "The others don't want this idea anyways, I'll just leave it as well...". Dare to stand out of the crowd ffs...

    I'm volunteering as one for creating a new clan, and if the players reading this decides to join and follow this idea, I am willing to request an unmute for myself, although I really wanted to just wait until it wares off (And here I would like to say sorry for bragging the staff team around for my wishes with these mutes)

    This Idea is really good but there is already a cap of clanmembers in 2.0 (as it is today, might be changed?).

    This sounds good, I already got a clan, and I do see that it's op sometimes. It would be really fun if there was a balanced gameplay at all times... some people should try to get their own clans, just not being in the same as everyone else will help. Even though the clan isn't successful.

    This will hopefully, but probably not happen. What could be done instead is that balanced teams overwrites clans so that a balanced gameplay will have a higher priority than being in the same team as your clanmates.

    I think this is a good idea it would divide up the competition I guess, so what you're saying is make a clan cap and have people make new clans?

    I can see how War's new players would be discouraged to play the server because they can't yet join clans like GSG etc.

    But even if there was a clan cap, all the best players can still crowd into one clan. How would you stop this?

    Love it, I think a clan cap of 50 players is resonable. And it would be easier for people to carry out making the clans if it didn't cost 2000 credits.

    What I forgot to write down, is that the amount of hmm, lets say, 100+ and above should be limited as well, to like 1-3 (with the current active 100+s, this is still too much maybe). Even if I would be to force it, I'd say every 150 and 200+ make a clan on their own, now that would be a balance there.
    I was thinking about how the current big clans should be "cut down", and for now, I say to @sjuka_legogubbar and @Lekosa1 to try and convince your high lvl members to create clans. Time will slowly divide the differences between the amount of members, hopefully. And, again, I can understand that it could be hard to "throw away" your awesome, well-known clans for much smaller ones, but if you want to help on the game, I recommend you two to join this idea.
    And sjuka, ok, 2.0 has it. So? Let's make it on 1.0 as well :stuck_out_tongue:

    Would definitely like to see this, being in GSG i'm always on the better team. I want to be able to go up against 100+ (GSG) and stop getting kill stealed by pro's :stuck_out_tongue:

    Thanks for putting your time in this, although I agree with what you've written. I don't think it's going to get implemented just because the amount of players that would get upset about not being able to be in their old clan. What @sjuka_legogubbar said about making fair teams more important then clans, sounds much more reasonable to me.

    I've to agree. Even if my heart hurts - GSG is too big at the moment. Don't expect me to change something though that would be too much for me, as I love GSG.
    As Sjuka said above there is a clan cap in War 2.0 and I hope this will balance things out. Before GSG member/mods or even Sjuka start to quote me and force members to leave GSG: Let's hit 1k members before we do so, atleast, okay :v

    I think not. Clans should be as big as they want to be. 50 players is so little. Even joeymast99's LTE had more than 50 people even when he had insane requirements to join. I think clans are just as fine as they are.
