If it's one of those mods what's stopping the player who's being screenshared from telling the staff member that and proving it during the screen share?

Anyways no point in debating any further, my point that in order to perform an effective screen share you actually have to go dig for it keeps getting ignored. Thankfully brawl realizes that it can be uncomfortable to be in a join.me with a stranger and quite unnecessary. Keep up the great work brawl !

Play WarZ, get a rank, join a team, and then see how your opinion changes when you die 30 times a day to players using X-Ray, knowing there is nothing you can do to stop them. Otherwise, don't assume you know what goes on.

I don't really care if it's a problem for WARZ players. Yeah it sucks but brawl has a brain and realizes that it's an invasion of privacy

Well if they're not going to bother fixing it because people are scared someone might find their hentai, they might as well sell WarZ to someone else or just shut it down completely, losing their #1 source of income (I believe).

Wow. It's not because we're afraid of them seeing embarrassing things, it's that we don't want to have to forefeight our rights to privacy to some nerdy stranger on minecraft. None of their buisness what's on my computer

It is their business, actually. If they have reason to believe that you might be hacking, then it is 100% their business what you're using. It shouldn't matter that you don't want to do it, if you're hacking nobody would want to screen share. It seems to me that the "it's my privacy you can't look" excuse is just one that's used in order for them to continue hacking.

Yes it's 100% their buisness what you're using that I will agree with. It shouldn't matter that I don't want to do it? No, being a mod doesn't give you the right to look at my private files. Stay off.

Like I said though, this is pointless. Brawls never going to start SSing and I commend them for such

The thing is, being a mod DOES give you a right to look at the files that are related to Minecraft if they believe you are hacking. If you don't want them to screen share you it's simple, don't hack. Nobody's going to random screen share just because they died, or else they'd be demoted.

    Party is Brawl's original moneymaker.

It's probably Brawl's best chance of becoming a "mainstream" server or whatever because of its simplicity and ease of access. You just join and are put into a game that you can play which you can leave at any time. With proper updates to gamemodes every few months or so to freshen it up, Party can pretty much last for as long as Minecraft multiplayer does.

I have better things to do with my time then go snoop around in someone's personal files, things which include moderating a server that has all but completely died. Died in part due to almost every player xraying, and the majority of them being open about it.
If you don't want someone simply checking your minecraft version, then I wonder how you are willing to navigate the internet and risk getting malware and other malicious trojans.
Sadly, I feel as though this will never be put into place again due to the improper screen sharing techniques displayed when the system first came out, and the many small details that were not thought through before its implementation. Despite this fact, I feel strongly that screen sharing should be re-introduced, and if you don't want someone 'snooping' through your minecraft folder, which when going through the resource packs section will not show any information except the name of your PC, you should be afraid of traveling to any website where there is even a remote risk of scammers, hackers, and phishers taking your information.

The thing is, most of the cheaters on brawl aren't good at it. Very few players on brawl use clients that can be self destructed to clear the .minecraft. Brawl isn't like a HCF server. A 10 minute check of the .minecraft will deal with 9/10 of the cheaters on brawl. I'm willing to have someone take a quick look at my minecraft folder if it means I won't have to play against a bunch of cheaters.

Have a strict SS policy that tells mods how to find **** in the .minecraft. Have mods record the screenshares. We don't need to go through search histories and have people download ratted SS tools.

    Holy ****
I can't believe I'm saying this for the 5th time, this goes to @Aboves aswell. Players can hide hacks outside your minecraft folder, to do an effective SS you must dig throughout the PC like they do on other servers. I mean if you guys wanna just check .minecraft go ahead I guess, I just find that to be pointless as people will start to just hide their hacks

Edit: I'm sick and tired of explaining my point and people misunderstanding my posts. I never said that simply getting your .minecraft folder checked is an invasion of privacy. SO PLEASE STOP

ok maybe you guys are right and people don't hide their hacks right now, however dont you think regular players that hack will learn to hide their clients? So I don't see how this solves warz's problems unless the hackers are first time players.

    I am with the spawn,
We have had the same old spawn for over 2 years now. (from what i can remember)
I think we are far overdue for a new spawn,
But, with War 2.0 coming out soon,
I see little to no point as i'm almost guaranteed there is a new one coming.
    (Can't wait for 2.0 :grinning:)

I think that the staff do not have much hope for the servers. Us, the players must have hope for the server and the staff shouldn't have hope for the community.

I think it's important to focus on other gamemodes more since party is staying afloat right now and it isn't our money-making server.

Tell player not to log off during SS process.

If player logs off, they get banned.

Use screensharing method to look at the player's HUD. Then, go step by step looking at all of the options in the options menu (found using the ESC key, not digging through .minecraft mind you.) and looking at the resource packs DISPLAYED IN THE LIST, NOT IN .MINECRAFT, until you are either 1) Sure the player has no hacks, thank them for participating in an SS session, apologize for any inconveniences, and wish them a great day, or 2) Find hacks, laugh at the person, ban them, then wish them a happy day.

Minimal invasive snooping. Not even looking at the files themselves. No embarrassing hentai involved.

lmfao well warz is pretty easy to spot hackers, although it seems you've never played it if you know someone's blatant then you know they're xraying, you gotta ss them. idgaf what folders they have, its their fault for breaking the rules and they get their pc searched. What happens when the police achieve a warrant for someones house and they find ****ing CP in the closet, along with some body pillows and lewd toys, who cares about the embarrassment its about catching the rule breaker in the process. I say we add in SS.

This ^ Is what I mean. If they never log off the server, then you know that they are using the same launched version that they were 'cheating' on. You can look at their settings and current launch version. If they are currently cheating, then they will be banned, if there is no evidence from that small little interaction, then the person should not be banned. That is almost zero invasion of privacy, and like I said before, it allows staff to exercise at least some control over xray.
