TS or Discord?

    Discord is more user-friendly than TeamSpeak is, and you can communicate with people without having to be in a channel with them or PMing them.

    Discord lacks a couple serious features that TeamSpeak has. Such as not being able to send messages in a voice channel. It makes the platform unusable for me. Communicating over the microphone and sending relevant links is exactly why I use any VOIP platform. Coordinating with others to use a voice channel and a different text channel is stupid.

    Also, Discord PMs are globalized meaning that if I allow PMs on my Discord servers tons of people will begin to message me filling up my "Direct Messages" area with contacts from everywhere. Its a very bad system for keeping server stuff separate from my personal friends.

    It is more user friendly though.

    Both. I usually talk to irl friends on discord and mcbrawl friends ok ts3. Anyways more people talk on ts.

    The idea of discord - combining Skype and TS3 - is great, but poorly executed in my opinion.
    What discord would need to be able to replace Teamspeak for me:
    • Texting in voice channels
    • Proper notifications when someone joins/leaves a channel
    • More complex permission systems (Maybe as an advanced mode?)
    • Being able to actually ban an account and IP and to mute users (moderating Discord is a nightmare with the current options)
    • Overall more features and information, such as Client Connection Info and poking users
    They just dropped way to many good features in an attempt to make Discord super-easy to use.

    I knew there was the option to ban, but I thought it only banned the account but not the IP. I take back that point, but it would still be nice to see the banned IPs or only ban an IP.

    TeamSpeak for me. Tried discord, and never really will again. It has potential, but needs to be polished with banning/ Muting people.
