Idea Remove or alter Cavalry.

I agree, and am one for removing this kit. But then again you do have to keep in mind that to get something, more than 1 person has to agree with you. In the past, you were able to KILL the HORSE but that was quickly changed so you couldn't. In an attempt to stabilize the class, it was made probably one of the most OP. But when I say OP, I mean in the sense of mobility. Besides that, they die quickly. If you try to shift + click soups to your hotbar, it doesn't work due to Minecraft mechanics. I would say this kit is annoying, but has been around for so long that removing would be idiotic. Mostly because in a sense, would disturb the somewhat balance already in the server. Another big problem is that we DON'T have an active coder/dev. So, best way is to alter instead of remove the class. @YouAreBestBae came up with a pretty good alternative to the class, but cannot be put in because of the fact that it would cost a lot of coding. One of the reason it is annoying to fight also, is because of hitboxes and hit registration. I, myself, have an aim that allows me to get more hits on the person ontop of the horse more often. Literally, aim UP towards their chest and just click as much as you can and I'm sure you'll be able to kill them. Specially since their amor isn't the greatest thing in the world. Only thing I would seriously not know how to counter would be the Ranged Cavalry. That is because, they shoot from afar and not up close, which leaves you weak to any attack. The thing with that is, you won't die straight away. Most tactics people use when playing Cavalry is to shoot at 1v1's hoping you shoot and they die. So for right now, you'll have to either

1. Deal with it.
2. Come up with an idea on how to alter instead of remove.
3. Learn how to code it for us ;D
4. Or, just play the class yourself.

 

Idea: Horse has diamond armor (or other type) and can be killed. After, let's say, 30 seconds an egg icon pops up in your inventory that you can right click to respawn your horse.
I don't really know how strong horse armor is so this could be good or bad

 

What would happen once the horse dies? That would equal immediate death due to the lack of armor the kit has.

 

Read what I said. You get the horse back. The whole point of the horse dying is to make the kit more fair since the user has a chance of actually dying instead of just running back and forth with the horse or running away when low.

 

Yes I read that part, but what will the person do WITHOUT the horse? Those 30 seconds would mean you would die in seconds unless you can juke and outrun people. Remember their armor is horrible and weak. I get that would somewhat "balance" the class, but it would also make it unplayable knowing you would have 1/10 chance to survive those 30 seconds.

 

Could just as easily give them a little more armor. Or make the wait time less.

 

More amor would make the class more OP, and the less time thing migt work. But they would just run until you can get the horse, and horses die pretty quick specially with a diamond sword with sharpness.

I mean the Calvary class is only useful in some situations. Sure, when people run away its easier to catch up to them, but maintaining combos with the horse kit is difficult. On top of this, the Calvary Kits main asset is its mobility. Its high jump and speed should allow it to get to places that other kits cant. Unfortunately, with our current map this is not always the case.

I really dislike the kit as well, I barely see people actually using it, and when they use it, it's just to annoy the other players.

Well, I use it because I feel half-decent with Vanilla PvP and I want have time to go back to spawn.
