I’ve been playing Wild West as a solo player on and off since Elite Week, so I figured I’d write a guide to help other solo players.

    Solo Team

If you are flying completely solo for awhile then create your own team to use as a personal bank. Ordinary banks can only be accessed from towns, but with a team you can use the team bank as a portable bank and do /team deposit or /team withdraw at any time.

If you have alts, add them to the solo team as well and set them to admin rank. It might make it look like your team is bigger than it is and might discourage people from attacking you. However, the primary reason you would add them to the team is because if you cannot access your main account (because it got caught in a sticky situation) then you can use your alts and access the team bank as well.

    Horse Layout

On most accounts I typically have 4 mules and one runner horse. The first 1-2 mules I will use to hold miscellaneous medicinal items, food, armor, and weapons. Then the rest of the mules I keep empty and use to deposit drugs on to use in processing. The runner I often keep empty because it is much more likely to die than the other horses. As you make more money as a solo player, you can replace your mules with storage horses and your runner with a speed horse.

    Cartels

Cartels give your team 5% of the money that people get from drug sales for that drug. A lot of teams don’t bother with cartels because they’re not worth much, but that means you have an excellent opportunity as a solo player to make some money on the side.

    Harvesting and Processing

When I use drugs to make money I go to a field, harvest the field, and perpetually call my mules. When the mules come, I store all the unprocessed drugs on them, send them away, go back to harvesting, and repeat. That way my mules are exposed for the least amount of time while in the field, and if I die I still have the drugs I harvested.

When I head to the processor I bring 9 stacks on my runner. If I see a sheriff there I’ll instantly send the runner home, and I’ll have no illegal drugs on me when searched.

When I process I perpetually call my horse just like when I harvest. I’ll grab some unprocessed drugs to replace the processed drugs, put the processed drugs on the horse, and then send it home. It has a low risk of dying, and you keep your processed drugs if you die.

After I’m done I’ll check to see if the cartel of the drug I want to sell is neutral or not. If it is, I’ll go to the nearest dealer and sell all the drugs. If not, I’ll head back to the town and probably log off and use an alt to continue harvesting and processing.

    Dealing with Teams At Proccessors

You’ll often run into large teams at processors at one point or another. You can deal with them however you want, but I do not advise attacking them. More often than not they’re a well-coordinated team that could more than easily kill you. Even if you manage to kill them half of them would likely return on speed horses to kill you afterwards. Therefore, I typically deal with them in two ways.

First, I’ll pm them or use local chat to explain that I’m friendly and ask if I can process with them. The majority of large teams I’ve run into have allowed me to do so, but there are certainly teams that would attempt to kill you given the chance. If they do allow you to process, I recommend not having a weapon out while you’re there, as that might make them suspicious of you or raise tensions with you.

If they do not wish to have me process with them, then I’ll typically try to process another drug that day. You’ll notice that your horses are still full of the unprocessed version of the drug, and you probably don’t want to throw it out. In that case, I recommend using an alt and using their mules to repeat. Then when the processor you’re at is empty, you can return to process the drugs there.

    What Drug to Farm

There are a lot of different drugs you can farm in the Wild West. Most noobs farm tobacco, and most experienced players and big teams farm wild grass. Poppies are also pretty crowded. That leaves you with shrooms and coco. I typically go to coco a lot because of the really high price of the drug and because it’s typically relatively empty, both at processors and fields.

You can farm tobacco, poppy, or wildgrass, but be careful. Noobs aren’t typically that much of a threat with tobacco because they’re easily killed, but they can easily earn you rogue if you want to kill them without risking getting hit, and tobacco overall is not very profitable. Poppy is moderately profitable and can be farmed, but wildgrass if often overrun with teams. If they let you process there you’re good. If not you’ll likely be unable to process there.

    Rogue Status

At some point or another you’ll likely end up as rogue, whether you were at fault or not. I’ve certainly gotten it just from killing people who shot at me and missed me first. When you get your rogue status examine your situation. Are there any sheriffs online? Make sure to use /sheriff to check. Was the player you killed part of a large team? Was he an experienced player or a noob? Are there any towns really close by?

    If there are no sheriffs:

If the player is experienced or he has a large team with people online, log out unless you are near a town. It’s likely that they will head to the nearest town, track you using your rogue status, and hunt you down with a speed horse. You’ll likely be on a runner and won’t be able to outrun them before rogue status ends.

If you are next to a town (like within a few hundred blocks of the border), then run to the town to safety until rogue status ends. Then you can go back to doing whatever without being tracked afterwards.

If there is a sheriff online:

If the sheriff is busy and you know they’re busy because you know they're fighting teams or chasing other rogues, you can proceed mostly like a sheriff is offline, but proceed with more caution, as the sheriff could decide to go after you after they’re finished dealing with the issue.

If they aren’t busy, I’d recommend logging out and waiting until later to come back. Use an alt without rogue status in the meantime if you have one.

Also, regardless of what you choose to do, relog immediately after becoming rogue as it causes your rogue tag to disappear, and therefore less people will be likely to hunt you down and attack you as they won’t notice you’re rogue.

    Dealing With Sheriffs

I have a few tips to help deal with sheriffs in the Wild West as a loner. You might not be able to kill them because you have no teammates, but there are still ways to evade them.

When you process drugs, if you keep only a few stacks of drugs in your inventory and keep your horse spawned, as soon as a sheriff shows up you can dump your drugs on your horse and send it to the stables. The sheriff can’t check that,, and therefore he can’t ticket you. Call your horse and resume processing after he finishes searching you and leaves.

If you are processing and a sheriff logs in and you want to distract the sheriff, go on an alt with no items and start robbing conductors. If you succeed you'll earn 1.5k. If a sheriff catches you you still have distracted the sheriff from checking the processors. and therefore avoided being caught. If you do get caught either mine your way out quickly and rob the conductor again or log into another alt and rob the conductor while the bounty evaporates on your first alt.

    Prison Time

You’ll head to prison if you die with a bounty or are arrested, which happens every so often to a solo player.

If your bounty is low (below 3,000 or so), I’d recommend just mining out all the diamonds, emerald, and gold around you, and you’ll be out within a few minutes.

If your bounty is high, you might want to go offline to reduce it and log in later. If you have an alt, you can use that in the meantime to continue with your activities.

If you have a solo team like I do and you have an alt in it, you could use that to bail yourself out, but I don’t typically bail myself out as I believe it’s mostly a waste of money.

    Mining

If all the processors are too overrun on one day and you just want to try something else, mining is a decent (but somewhat slow money-making) alternative. If you do want to mine, I recommend the Rosebud Mine or the Decker Mine if Rosebud is overpopulated. Mines are now pvp free, so you can mine without worry of dying. Every so often call your mules to deposit items on them and head back to town after they’re full. I recommend processing at a town because the processor is often right next to the gem collector. If you want you can process on an alt and then go back to mining.

    Indian Camps

If you want target practice or the processors are overrun, Indian Camps are a good place to go. I’d recommend mostly using a carcano to kill them and carrying a sawed off on the side. Sheriffs don’t typically go to indian camps, so you should be fine using illegal guns. Scope with a carcano and use it to kill them at medium to long range. Keep the sawed off to use in case you get to close and need to use to get out of a sticky situation. You can use the sawed off to kill all of them, but you’ll likely take a lot of damage and need lots of medcine.

The only issues indian camps have are that it takes forever to get to them and back and once you clear them you have to wait awhile for them to respawn or spend more time going to another camp.

Feedback on the guide is appreciated.

Fairly well constructed, and the information is pertinent to the game.

    Good job.

    Firstly, a very good guide.
But you might wana point out that you dont have to be online for your bounty to go down. You do not need to leave your computer on.

    + Uranium is back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've played it in a large team before, didn't really like it. I like flying solo because you don't have to answer to anyone or pay taxes.

Oops didn't know that. I'll edit the thread and fix it. Thanks for the advice! If you see anything else that could be better let me know and I'll edit it.

    Thanks guys!

Playing solo is most of the time easy if you.have friends in big teams.

Omg this guide is perfect. I love it.
Maybe tell what gear to use when you go to a proc?

Yes I'll add a section on that soon.

Tbh I typically bring no weapons because most of the time the players at the processor are either friendly, overpowered with diamond armor and gwelers and sawed offs, they have large teams, or a combination, so a weapon is mostly useless for me.
