    The issue is cross-compatibility. I can't go into the full reason because the entire thing is very techy and difficult to explain, but I can link you the thread where Putty explains why kind of the same thing happens with Raid. People were asking to downgrade to 1.7, so Putty came out and explained why that wasn't possible. I believe the same issue corresponds here. The original thread is here.

    I'd rather have Build update and the rest of the network remain at 1.8 than have all of Brawl update to 1.11

    Then, joining different servers would most likely be impossible because Microsoft screwed up compatibility.
    Besides wait for 1.12, it has concrete...

    The thing with Build is that the original intent of the server was a place to build maps for other game modes.... If it updates, new maps would be incompatible with the pvp game modes.

    As @Xelasi said, MinecraftBuild is intended for making maps for gamemodes. If McBuild was 1.12 while the others gamemodes stayed in primarily 1.8, people would be using 1.9+ blocks in their gamemode maps which isn't compatible with 1.8.
    I would love to have build updated to 1.12 but all of the server needs to update for this to work instead of just Build.

    Im not 100% sure, but im quite sure that 1.2 blocks actually appear to people with v 1.2, however not for people with 1.11 or under that, which would make for some pretty interesting mechanics with sky bridges for different mincraft versions.... :stuck_out_tongue:
    (i can import 1.2 blocks into build using worldedit (import from singleplayer), and they actually work, however, you cant see em if ur in any version which is 1.11 or below, also, if you in any way interact with them, aka rightclick them, they dissappear temporarily....)
