I think this is a weird topic to talk about, this is also bothering me because I understand not cursing is cool, but I realized we have ./censor that funnels it out on top of that we have ./ignore and for minecraft build if someone is being annoying we even have ./toggleglobal to use if we find that minecraft build is going into a flame war. It really makes no sense why people get muted for this, I know this is in the rules of excessive cursing, but lets be real here when was the last time brawls rules been truely updated in the command ./rules for brawl. Also most people on brawl don't have forums so they can't see the newest post that have ground breaking effects on how things go like Roke's 40 mute/ban perm ban rule.

It's a simple answer: because everyone doesn't use /censor or /ignore. And /censor just bleeps the words, that doesn't change the meaning at all.

/ignore doesn't work, and well, people can bypass filters and /censor should be set on strict from the get go.

It all depends on how they are used. A couple swear words here and there aren't a big deal. Excessive swearing is where it crosses the line. You or some others may not agree with it but other players may not appreciate being cussed at all the time. Everyone is different and Brawl is just one of those servers that like to be at least somewhat kid friendly.

I agree. We shouldn't mute people who excessively curse. We should just give them a bar of soap

I believe the rule has always been in "You can swear, but in moderation." I don't know how every staff member personally takes this, because some would consider trivial words that others might call harmless a major offense, even if said jokingly to a friend or team mate. This is a touchy subject and the rule is sort of blurry. :blackalien:

The command is ./block, and it does work. Whenever you use it you are no longer able to read any chat from that person, and they can't read yours.
Tbh they should just change the curse word to another word like other servers do. Would solve a lot of issues. The way ./censor is supposed to work is people who don't want to view cursing turn it on, people who don't care turn it off. Unless you're spamming curse words excessively, or bypassing the chat filter (in which people with the censor turned on can view your message), I don't see why staff still mute for saying the word "f***" twice when you die (yes, I was muted for this a couple weeks back I believe).

I personally don't mute unless it's excessive, and is repeated a lot. Someone telling someone else to "**** off" is a perfect example of when I tell them to chill to stop them from arguing, and 9/10 times it works. Kit has the most strict filter in game, and it's pretty obvious when someone is excessively cursing :V. (Btw /censor is disable on Kit, so there is no way to turn the censor off.)

That is odd, shouldn't everything have ./censor???? Did brawl get lazy or something?

It was coded like that, and it isn't that bad if you ask me. Kit can be considered toxic, due to the fact you get cussed out a lot by many people xD, to some point it is more of a +1.

Usually, when someone's swearing excessively, it falls under flame anyway. The odd **** here and there is fine, but when the whole chat is a bunch of ****s, its not very pleasant even for someone with the chat censor on.

Because stopping one person from speaking at all is easier than showing people how to ignore them
