I think most of us know what a tracker is, and that there are three types of them. But personally I think that there should be another type, that can only be used three times because the temporary trackers are hard to use and new players don't do tracking because it uses up a lot of resources. I am thinking something like a iron block in the middle stone as the arms and obsidian at the end of the arms. Each arm block is 25 blocks but as I stated It can only be used three times. Tell me what you think about this suggestion. Thanks.

Sorry, but I don't think this has any practical use.

I have been tracking for the past year and a half (Plus Mcpvp back in 2012) and I can tell that it's almost impossible for a player to track someone with just 3 attempts (supposing that you narrow by 25 blocks). Temporary trackers have a different purpose (You use them after you narrowed someone's coords), and most of the new players don't even know about their existence.

Your new tracker would do the same job of a temporary cobblestone/stone/obsidian tracker. But it would take more resources for the same benefits. It doesn't pay-off.

Tracking full map or making decent trackers doesn't consume much time as many players think. In fact, gathering materials wouldn't take more than 3 hours (just the obsidian, you can get gold and diamond blocks out of voting https://www.brawl.com/vote/).

I agree with @Speedcell for the most part. If it was something more durable or worth while. If you are looking for a solution for new players to track without learning the vanilla tracking concepts, I would suggest something completely different from the original tracking concepts.

I agree with Speedcell on this - This tracker seems more complicated than the current temporary trackers. There is also the issue of how this '3 time use' thing would work. What if you use it once, then mine it up and move it?

I feel liked it'd be more efficient to make a temp tracker than the type tracker you suggest. For that specific type tracker you mentioned I personally wouldn't want it added. Although I would be open to listening to other tracker suggestions

And I don't care for trackers at all, there are better ways to find bases- namely looking around for high spawn rates, grown cacti/sugarcane, random blocks of cobble, etc.

I actually would prefer ditching trackers altogether and using the system that hunger games used where your compass points at the nearest player within 1000 blocks. It would highly encourage PVP, especially when there's hardly anyone on, but would require a lot more map exploration. This could also be used to triangulate bases, and defensively to identify people who are coming for you. And finally, it would be far more intuitive for new players.

Sit at 5k, 5k in the nether. Right click till someone shows up. Vault narrowed with no skill involved.

Also, there's definitely no better way to find bases than to be good at tracking.

I like sticking to tracking, gives more for people to strive to learn and make. Helps boost raidings as well. Also if it were changed to this system it'd be extremely hard to differentiate from Xray to someone using the compass.

Tracking has been part of Survival PvP and Raid since it started - It's in the gamemodes legacy. And as hockey said, there is no better way to find a good base than a spot of tracking. If the base was placed in a desert, or has cobble on the surface above it - It isn't a well made base. Also anon's point is a very good one - It would make differentiating between X-ray and legit raiding very difficult. Tracking is an art, it takes skill to master - Clicking a compass doesn't, and that means the hardcore aspect of Raid would be lost.
