    Obviously it won't be perfect but the staff team is hopefully prepared to handle any issue that arises from this.

    But it will just mean more work for staff. If people hack or get muted/punished 40 freaking times, they deserve to be banned.

    There have been discussions about the 40+ punishment rule. The higher ups are looking into it I believe. Other than this I personally think it's good to give players a second chance with a fresh start, some might take it and run with it and be glad they were given another chance. For those players that still haven't changed then the staff team will simply have to deal with them and punish appropriately.

    In the long run this will pay off, for example all the alters that hacks and keeps on comming back on a VPN will be banned only once, instead of 10+ or even more times. It might be a lot of work for the mods in the comming month, but in the long run it will pay off.

    And the 40+ punishments (which is usually a lot of mutes) is, to be honest, not as important as getting rid of hackers that keeps comming back on alts.

    At most, a restart of all the servers, which would take ~10 minutes. I'm not very informed, but I don't think unbanning will require any downtime, unless the web stuff needs to be restarted.
