Botm & Build contests

I asked myself this question, and since builders already have unlimited maps, build team member could win a medal, but the 3 map slots should be won by a non-build team member. I don't really think it's not allowed because it's fair/unfair for the competition, but for prizes: Imagine someone who sacrificed his only map hoping to get a few more, and then someone who don't care about new slots wins the prize. For me, more entries is better in anyway, so they could participate, but rewards should be distributed to lambdas.
Also, since it's the build team which choses the themes, a build team member could cheat by influencing the team to choose a theme he already started working on. So if they participate, the team manager should make sure nobody is trying to cheat.

Also, as we are on the topic, I was wondering, can someone win two time Botm? and if yes, will he win a second medal or something?

 

No unless you make a new award called build team member of the month. You don't need to as you already have elite and other perks and surely you should be building things for brawls new games rather than contests and such.

 

I don't think he is saying that build team members should win the prizes, but more challenge themselves. It's true that building things to brawl should be the priority tho.

 

Then there's not really any point in entering if you can't win. Also this thread was made by someone who I rarely see on the build team server so maybe work on activity there first. (Build Team as a whole isn't very active on the bt server anyway).

 

They cannot win prizes, but still win the competition, get credit, not a reward. And people does what they what with their free time, being a build team member is volunteering, you can't really judge people for not beeing as active as you wished, most people have a life aside.
I get what you mean, but builders don't have a way to get recognition from most people on the forum, they seem just "part of a team", not incredible individual builders as they really are. So that's why I think they should participate in some kind of contest or something to get evaluated by the community and get recognition from their skills.

 

I thought Builders could win trophies. I was told this by @DeCasperr a few months ago and @Rhos_ confirmed it. The reason I hadn't applied for Builder before was due to them not being able to get trophies.

 

Yeah we can get trophies if we build the best build of all entries, but we wouldn't get ranked. That's only for build competitions though.

 

Current system is that if gala thinks your build is better than 1st place, you can get a medal, alongside the actual winner. If more than 1 builder fulfils this condition, the medal's given to the best builder.

 

When applying for the build team, you are agreeing that you know you can't win build contests. Get over it. Its just something you give up when becoming a builder.
