Idea Ideas for shop

    So, I went ahead and got together some ideas that I think would be nice to have in MCParty as currently the shop isn't that special (Not talking about the fact that it doesn't work). The cosmetics for horses are great however!

    I think the fact that nobody used/uses the items in the shop is because they are way to overprized for what they do. As a normal player you could, if you get first place, most of the time not get the cost back you paid for an item. I don't think that should be the case. I think that if you get first place, you should be able to get your payment back.

    So I am suggesting the following things:
    • Reduce all the prizes of the current items (Only for the one in spleef and dead end).
    I have to say that I don't know if the items will see too much play now but I think it'll be fine. If they do see too much play we can always change them to another cost (Also, have a max on how many you can have).

    So now, I also had some own suggestions for the shop in the form of permanent items. One buy items aren't as fun to buy because you could throw money away, so I think permanent items are great!

    Here are a few I came up with:
    Snowball battle upgrades:
    • Upgrade to iron shovel (250 coins)
    • Upgrade to diamond shovel (500 coins)

    Spleef upgrades: (can also work with snowball battle)
    • Start out with 8 snowballs (125 coins)
    • Start out with 16 snowballs (250 coins)
    • Start out with 2x16 snowballs (500 coins)

    Diamond mine upgrade:
    • 1% Chance to get 2 points when mining diamonds (250 coins)
    • 2% Chance to get 2 points when mining diamonds (500 coins)
    • 3% Chance to get 2 points when mining diamonds (1000 coins)
    • 4% Chance to get 2 points when mining diamonds (2000 coins)
    • 5% Chance to get 2 points when mining diamonds (4000 coins)

    Chicken game upgrade: (Could also be used for the shear sheep game when you shear a sheep)
    • 1% Chance to get Speed 1 for 5 seconds when you kill something (250 coins)
    • 2% Chance to get Speed 1 for 5 seconds when you kill something (500 coins)
    • 3% Chance to get Speed 1 for 5 seconds when you kill something (750 coins)
    • 4% Chance to get Speed 1 for 5 seconds when you kill something (1000 coins)
    • 5% Chance to get Speed 1 for 5 seconds when you kill something (1500 coins)
    I also thought of some things that aren't unlocks like the ones above!
    One in the chamber:
    Get 2 arrows every kill you make (500 coins)

    Assassin:
    Start out with 2 targets (500 coins)

    Diamond mine:
    Place a torch when you right click a block (250 coins)

    Chicken game:
    Also start out with a bow with infinite 1 (500 coins)

    Spleef:
    Start out with a snowball that makes a 2x2 area (250 coins)

    Infected:
    Start out with a stick with knockback 3 (1 higher than what we now have)

    Leveling up:
    Change the Characters to be unlockable with levels. Players can use coins to level up

    And I know not all of you like permanent items because they could ruin the balance of the games. I agree and hope that won't happen so I also thought of some items that are 1 time use.

    (All of the above items with a greatly reduced cost)

    Fail safe: You could apply this to a sword or bow with the games that include -50% monsters. When the player has fail safe and hits one of the those monsters, it won't actually count as a kill and it will break the fail safe of the player making sure he doesn't take the penalty (25 coins?)

    That's all for now. I might come back later to edit some of this and change things according to what you guys feedback is.

    I like the idea for lowering the prices a lot because I'd like to see more items being used, but I think instead of making the permanent items unlockable with coins, we do an achievement-based system. It'd be nice to have little quests to do during the game and might make for some interesting gameplay because right now you just play to win and that can be monotonous.
    Also, for the spleef shovel, it's already diamond if I remember correctly. It's actually enchanted diamond I think. And for the infection tag knockback stick, you can't really do much higher because then people would get autobanned for flying. We tried before on raid and got some pretty adverse reactions.

    An achievement-based system sounds very interesting yeah.

    Also the shovels are for the snowball battle, not spleef :wink:

    Oh shoot. xD That sounds awesome though! Except I really don't want party to turn into a kind of gamemode where you can work your way up to beating everyone else. Ad I see it, war did the same thing and people hate that you can just buy newer, better guns. I'm afraid that if we do something like with the mining game, where you get more gems mined per block, that it'll give certain people too much of an advantage.

    Yeah, it's one of the things I worried about too and that's why the chances are so low for something like the gems. And that's why I also added some none permanent items down the list. I think some of the permanent items will do fine, like snowballs, as they are already easy to get. I think things like speed and extra gems would need testing to be sure that it doesn't ruin the experience.
