What about the Crusades (aka Holy Wars)? That was a good two and a half centuries of war right there.

It's true, if you look at the main point, that this person would die without God, but you shouldn't underestimate God. Something miraculous could happen. He could give the person a sign.

Yes, but how many of them were unjust? It looks like most of them were against the Turks.

Wars are just if they're against the Middle East?

Also, that's beside the point of what we were talking about. Whether or not Christianity has caused a significant amount of war - which it has (through the Crusades alone).

The Ottoman Empire was cruel. If you don't think so, go ask some Armenians, Greeks, and Serbians.

That doesn't correlate with what I said, but I agree with that.

So, we should've let them worship their false gods and go to Hell? Is that good in your eyes?
I agree, some of them went too far. I heard a story about some settlers ordering a native chief to convert to Christianity or die. He chose to die and they killed them. Agents of Satan right there.

Maybe what the native chief bieleves is correct and the Christians are wrong. They have the same amount of proof.

There's more proof to Christianity than some native folk religion that possibly died off. Why would the god or gods of a folk religion let their influence be scarce or extinct? They would want it to be the most powerful. Christianity's is the most powerful. I don't see any other religion, besides Islam, that's actively trying to spread influence.
Also, it is a fact that my God, Jesus, did walk this Earth, and the fact that He died a horrible death for the good of all of humanity makes Him truly worthy of worship.
I don't think Christianity would be nearly as big and powerful as it is today if thousands of people didn't see Jesus alive and well after being executed and buried, and thousands did set out across the world to tell the story of Jesus. You really think the eleven disciples alone could've caused great influence? Ten of them were killed. The sole survivor, John, lived the rest of his days on an island he was exiled to.
The way to eternal life is much easier in Christianity than any other religion. All you have to do is acknowledge you are a sinner and believe in Jesus. Other religions call for good works or a great sacrifice for such an achievement.
Christianity seems to be the only religion that baffles secularists. They seem to have a liking or understanding towards other religions, but when it comes to Christianity, they get puzzled or irritated.

Whatever. I expect to be hated. The Bible tells me to not be surprised if the world hates me (1 John 3:13), and that it hated God first (John 15:18).
Also, being a hater makes you a murderer (Matthew 5:21-22) (1 John 3:15).

If you look at religion from a purely humanistic standpoint, and ignore any evidences for anything, it still makes sense that Christianity would be far more popular than most religions, for the same reason that Judaism and Islam are widespread and popular. In the days when these religions were picking up, people didn't think at all like they do today. Critical thinking didn't really even exist to a notable extent before the Renaissance, and even then much of the world was still left in the dark. If people back then saw something that appealed to them, they'd take it, and that holds true for religions. History is full of examples of entire populations converting. If that happened now, it'd be reasonable to assume that most of them still truly believed what they originally had, and only pretended to believe in the new thought. Maybe for self-protection, maybe for other reasons. Back then, however, populations most likely really did change like that, or else the course of thoughts throughout history would have been radically different.

People saw Christianity as a haven. Most of the world was extremely poor, in all areas, and the big three religions were the first to really promote charity and caring for the poor. Thus, the poor people were easily persuaded by Christian or Jewish or Islamic missionaries, and so the religions spread like wildfire. For similar reasons, Buddhism was very popular, and still is sixth most popular "religion" in the world (quotes are because Buddhism wasn't strictly a religion because it had no God). Judaism has declined, but in the past it was among the three most popular religions.

Most religions in that era were very specific, and gave lots of power to high-class people. An example of this is Hinduism (which was very widespread and still is the 4th most popular, because India has a high population and many areas around India traditionally practice Hinduism), which spread only very slowly and not very much because only high-class people were interested in it. Most religions were very specific to a single location, and could not spread very quickly.

So, do you believe Jesus existed or not? If not, then you're at odds with virtually all historians.
