Did McPvP Hurt Brawl's Growth?

    I had a chart sitting around for a while and I'd recently decided to complete it. But after looking over it I'd got to thinking that the huge population increase in Brawl could've contributed to the lack of new players that come to the server:

    A large growth in population usually sets off a red flags within cites' algorithms. I know for example YouTube is known to hide a channel from being recommended if the channel had gotten more views from an outside source. Could this have been possible with Brawl's advertisement on other cites? Just a theory that I know could be very well possible.

    ... or eula enforcement, server blacklist, subsequent loss of revenue, loss of coders + general disinterest in the "same old thing" (i.e. ppl moving on to other gamemodes/games) contributed to less growth/loss of players in day-to-day playercount?

    Na. We must base all of our logic off of conspiracy theories.

    But yeah. Of course all of those matters have undoubtedly contributed to the lack of new players. I was just curious if the cites Brawl is advertising on run anything like the YouTubes which could have drastically decreased the amount of people who were introduced to the server. I know my channel's analytics show a sharp decrease in recommended lists directly after I'd get shout outs from large channels.

    I had it on excel ever since they started the news on here. Brawl's monthly news tells how many players have joined the server up to date.

    Well, in this case your TA (Technical Analysis) is good. When the spike happens I would add another separate line to show the different growth rates. The trend line doesn't seem too accurate when it hits the mcpvp transfer.

    Hello McPvP brought in CTF, CTF is like the 2nd biggest gamemode on the server, if anything it boosted the growth
    -temporally that is-

    Minecraft multiplayer in general started dying from a variety of factors like draw from realms, the new enforcement of the EULA, a focus on marketing to younger kids who are less suited to multiplayer and may tire of the game faster, etc. I mean, hell, I up and left due to the new EULA stuff: it was too stressful to watch my childhood burn. I instead became a COD/2k/Madden player and professional rager on Xbox one.

    brawl cannot advertise in ways that were effective before because of eula enforcement
