War 2.0 Ideas

    Hello I have a couple of ideas for War 2.o, for guns and weapons.

    So, here they are.

    Sniper: Intervention from MW2 - Unlocked at level 30 - 5 shots in clip - 45 shots all together - Bolt Action Sniper Rifle - 1 shot headshot - 3 shot body shot

    Sub Machine Gun: (SMG) PPSH-41 from WaW. Unlocked at level 35 - 50 shots in clip -150 shots all together. - Fully Automatic - 2.5 hearts per shot

    Pistol: Colt M1911. From most games. Starting pistol. 7 shots in clip - 56 shots all together - Semi Auto - 2 hearts per body shot - 3 hearts for headshot

    Assault Rifle: M14 - From CoD4 - Unlocked at level 40 - 20 shots in clip - 120 shots all together - Semi Auto - 4 hearts per bodyshot - 5 hearts for headshot

    Light Machine Gun: (LMG) LSAT from BO2 - Unlocked at level 50 - 70 shots in clip - 210 shots all together - Fully Automatic - 4 hearts for shot - 6 hearts for headshot

    Special: Ballistic Knife from BO1 - Unlocked at level 15 - 1 shot in clip - 3 shots all together. - Semi Auto - Instant kill

    Could there be...
    any statistics other than ammo?
    Damage? Bullet type? Fire rate?

    Like what does it shoot. Like how the ray gun shoots a beam, cbow shoots an arrow, most guns shoot snowballs, etc.

    Maybe make the intervention a higher level, I don't want people within the first week to have 1 shot snipers already...

    Much like the sniper unlocked by default, which also can one-shot on headshots?

    On war yes, we're talking about war 2.0. Also if the default sniper on war 2.0 is 1 shot that needs to be nerfed (kinda obvious).

    I disagree. I think that all it needs is to be harder to hit headshots. I think that if new players can't get fun, effective kills, they're more likely to leave than if they can. Hitting headshots is really quite satisfying, and something like that would be a sure way to keep new players in the server. Maybe it could be a gun you unlock very quickly, but still be weak enough that it can't dominate games, even in good players' hands. The best balance for a gun is something that's fun for whoever's using it, but isn't completely broken. Making it harder to hit headshots would make it fun for the user when they hit headshots, and would encourage them to keep practicing. It would also be balanced, because it would be hard to use to its fullest potential.

    I do agree with what you said but is it actually possible to make it harder to hit headshots? I am not experienced with code at all, just wondering. Also I was basing my opinion on the current hit box for a headshot on war, not a smaller hit box as you suggested. Anyway, if people that just start off basically have the same weapon or capability you have as an experienced player, what motivates a person to keep playing? Maybe making a higher level sniper easier to one shot, because keeping everything totally equal might demotivate people from playing and ranking up.

    Intervention is already in 2.0. The other guns seems ok, maybe a bit too good especially the M14. However, I think that we should wait until the release before adding more guns, which can easily be done.

    Other stats that you could add: Accuracy and time in between each bullet/ if it's x-round burst.
    The current hitbox is the whole head hitbox, which makes sence to me as shoting the head means you headshot someone. But really the problem is that the minecraft body has a very big head compared to eg CoD. It might be possible to make just center of the head hitbox be onehit though.

    If it's not possible to make it the head hitbox smaller, it could be something along the lines of having only a certain % chance to get headshot damage on a headshot. That way it would put a cap on how good people can be with it, so it's not too overpowered.

    Just saying, I think the LSAT looks way to overpowered. Since it has such a high amount of bullets in each clip, many people would be spraying this weapon. The weapon does 4 hearts. This is a maximum of 3 hits if you hit someone's body. With such a high bullet amount and damage, this could definitely change the game significantly.

    Nice ideas but the guns for War 2.0 were designed a long time ago :grinning:

    As stated above, the M200 Intervention is already a thing. After debating this a long time I've decided to go ahead and make it a 1-shot kill. That said, with the introduction of many additional gun stats I've been able to balance the gun. The idea behind it is that the weapon is very powerful but hard to master: landing shots with it is hard since (1) the unscoped accuracy is terrible; (2) the process of scoping takes a little longer than usual; (3) while scoped, players move slower than usual AND can't jump, making them easy targets. This also prevents the weapon from being used as a close-quarters weapon (unless the player using it is incredibly good, against which there's nothing to do). In any case, I've found that other snipers were superior to the Intervention in many regards. Those of you that have attended the testing sessions might remember the MSR, the Dragunov or the P-06 (my personal favorite), which were much more popular choices.
