Low Retention Rate

    Just sat in a lobby of BR for 5 minutes on a Saturday night (for America) without a single player joining. And no other server had any players either.

    Why do you think there is such a low retention rate?

    I think new players have no idea what they're doing. I see them asking all the time. There needs to be more of a tutorial.

    Update: About 15 minutes and no more than 3 people have joined

    I agree. I love it and Sig did great. It's just sad that on a Saturday night I have to wait 20 minutes for a game.

    It's no doubt that so far, BR hasn't done too well. I haven't exactly played many games, but here's my take on it.

    When I first played BR, it was pretty exciting for the first 2 or 3 minutes. Getting loot and wondering when I'll get killed was a great feeling (similar to what got me hooked into HG all those years ago). Then I'd get an anticlimactic win, and I'd be waiting in a lobby again.

    BR is really exciting to begin with, but that feeling doesn't last long. Combat is way too short - fights that last 5 seconds aren't rare. The map should be much smaller, loot should be more common, and fights should start happening much quicker. Right now, I'm spending more time looking for combat than I'm spending time actually in combat, if that makes sense.

    BR wasnt a server that was made for 5 people to enjoy. i could use your same arguments for a 10 man HG game. If the server gets players (30-60 avg per game) then it'll be a better game. i've spoken to enough people already who've told me that the game is fun but they dont play because not enough players play

    Also maybe make the lobby lock in at two minutes so that the timer doesn't keep resetting: I see loads of people leave after waiting too long for the game to start with 7-8 people in the lobby

    The gamemode needs to be adapted so that it suits the lower player counts, then (just like HG - designed for 120 players, still an amazing gamemode if it reaches 120 players, but never ever gets 120 players). I don't have a huge amount of ideas other than the basic 'make the map smaller!' but that's the direction BR needs to go in for it's first update, in my opinion.

    I live in Wisconsin and I have an idea with that rig that involves snow and a snowmobile

    So here's the deal-

    Make the rounds perpetual- in other words, they don't end. Top scorer is the guy with the most kills.

    When people die, or log on, have them respawn within 100 blocks of the guy with the highest kill count.

    The idea is that these won't end, there's a lot more combat, and even a small player count is workable.

    I hopped on last night, all severs were empty. Any changes, as long as they increase player count from 0, should be considered.

    It seems like a great game but I think the rounds should last 10 minutes tops with 10-16 players since every time I have played I spend 15-20 mins collecting loot and getting to the safe area and then all of a sudden the border is within render and I didn't know since my map never works :/

    The gamemode is fun and very well made, just brawl's current playerbase isn't large enough to allow it to reach its full potential. Which is quite unfortunate :L

    Not sure what to do other than host an event on it, maybe. That would get it some players but people wouldn't stay after the event.

    I think this post is very accurate! It's not so much a question about the quality of the gamemode but about how many resources the server is able to spare. Adding more gamemodes is good but as we know Brawl doesn't have near enough Developers to maintain all of these gamemodes. In my opinion, I think that Brawl needs to focus on the gamemodes that need updates the most or at least focusing on the gamemodes that provide the most player traffic.

    Short list:
    - Balance classes on CTF, remove the instakill abomination called 'Archer', buff the Dwarf and Necro classes, nerf Chemist, maybe add a few more classes (I'd like to see a class with a horse).
    - Work on a better anti-X-Ray client for Raid - I'd guess about 70-80% of the player base uses and abuses X-Ray but will not fess up to it, most of my bases are lost due to X-Ray
    - Hardcore Games- Why did this disappear?
    - Reenable any gamemodes inherited from MCPVP that were mature or did not require much maintenance (Maze Runner, Zone Control come to mind)
    - Implement a Refer-a-Friend program where people who refer other people, and they come on the server, get Brawl credits for stuff.
    - Implement a 'Come on Back' program when players who have been gone for 6+ months get Brawl credit for coming back.
    - Implement a Rewards Program for people who buy stuff in the shop- like for every $10 they purchase, they earn another $1 of in-store credit
    - Implement (or better advertise) players linking/subscribing to Brawl social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc).
    - Push out a class above Elite, where you get every access to every current and future cosmetic item in the store when you buy it, plus the Elite perks.
    - Raid- allow for the bottling/selling of XP; allow for scavenging materials from armor
    - Bring a Youtuber to help promote game-modes. Bring a GOOD one for Build.
    - Do a 'catching hackers' type of video on Youtube- I've seen some of the vids done by the Brawl mods, funny as hell.
