Technology CPU + GPU combination

    Probably getting a new desktop soon, probably only going to game in 1080p (I really don't need more than that)

    Thinking about getting the Intel i5-7600 + GTX 1060 6GB, I'm pretty sure that'll give me 60+ fps for most games at ultra settings, but wondering if a GTX 1070 would be bottlenecked by the i5

    Thoughts?

    (fyi I'm not building my own, don't have the time, but I am looking at some companies that allow me to customize)

    Do not get a 1070 rn. bitcoin mining has raised the prices to almost 1080 level if not higher. The combo you have rn is brilliant for most games.

    ryzen 1600 and 1070/1060 depending on if you want to play 1440p or 1080p

    get a good deal on a 1070 used or open box or something because prices are messed up right now

    I have an i5-7600K with a GTX 1070 and I'm not experiencing any bottlenecks, so your combo should work just fine.

    The price increase because of Ethereum affected both the GTX 1060 and 1070, so no matter which one he chooses he will run into this problem.

    bitcoin mining is when you get bitcoins from using ur gpu for something right?

    ryzen 1600 is better value now but the 7600k is still good if you get it for a good price

    Ryzen 1600 is an amazing CPU. If you want to do anything multithreaded, AMD > Intel here. Sure, for running one game and not doing any multitasking, Intel, but ryzen is still a really good CPU (plus it has a great stock fan)
