    Hi,
    I just have a small question, because I did not play on brawl for over a year and I wonder why things changed so quickly... To the question:
    Why is HG dead?
    There are so few players left, it's extremely sad.
    I'll try to play on brawl, as I enjoy minecraft again! Just have to find time :c

    Oh and by the way, HG is not dead, just on brawl... (I hope you know which german server I mean)

    There are many possible reasons why HG on brawl is dead

    1. The way brawl handled HG when it first merged. You know how they did, and because of that so many people left

    2. No advertisement from any sites. None on YouTube, or anywhere.

    3. The concept of souppvp is quite old and not as popular as it used to be

    4. SimpleHG. When it started, it got advertisement, boasted better management, and so it grew at the expense of brawl's hg

    1. Very true. They did not care enough for HG. Updates took too long.

    2. This is in my opinion the biggest factor. As you might now, I am fluend in German. I watch BastiGHG and he is clearly the main factor why Simple is so popular. He has 200k, streams daily for over 1 year now and what you maybe don’t know, he was not even sad that mcpvp died, he was never really interested in Brawl either. So he helped his friend PatrickGHG to make his server big.
    What BrawlHG really needs is someone how creates contend on it and even better, streams daily! As you know, a good product does not need to be 'good', it just needs good advertisement!

    3. Omg no, just no. Only BrawlHG is dead. BR servers are fine, Munchy has a small but big enough community to start a game (brawl does not even have that) and not to mention simple. And to be honest, it all has to do with youtube/twitch. BR servers have soooo many youtubers, youtube is full of BR HG gameplays! None are made on brawl obviously... Munchy has BadBayHalo (I think his youtube channel is the only reason why munchy has players lol) And Simple... Basti...
    TL; DR: Soup is not dead! But BrawlHG is!

    4. Yeah, true.

    Oh, there is something else I must say.
    The BR/German soup communities are strong, but the English/US community is basically dead... (especially if you see the situation as a German Speaker)

    Anyways, I hope that BrawlHG will start to grow again. I’ll play it :smile:


    PS: Don’t even dare to say that I should not be complaining as I don’t play either. When I stopped to play HG, I stopped to play Minecraft in general, not just Brawl. Now I want to play it again, but how should I play it with no players on it? Especially on EU times?

    Brawl was legally required to get 3 gamemodes out in a month as well as integrate a 1,000+ player community into the server, had 7-8 other gamemodes at the same time which still needed updating (most of which were more popular), had been hit by the EULA a little later on causing the server to plummet in players and funds and has had a shortage of devs for as long as I can remember, yet we still reworked almost every kit in the game as an update and haven't shut down HG yet despite it having no players. I don't understand how people can say Brawl didn't care about HG.

    If Brawl cared for HG they will be having ideas on improving the gamemode not just letting sit there with 0 players on each server.

    Well I tried :/
    Basically, the main issues are already mentioned here, but I think the issue of SimpleHG is a more in-depth one here.
    (NOTE: Yes, I'll be having my answer to my staff application on Simple on Sunday, and I'm aware of what the person against me there is going to say and I can counter it easily, so I've got a decent chance. However, this does NOT change my bearing on BrawlHG - it's the original)
    Simple did a much better job regarding bringing in players from more than the soup community. I saw StoneSworders on there recently, I heard that Stimpy played on it on alts - there's the Pot community.
    Due to the strategy of towering, Bedwars players have a good chance there.
    And with combat being the goal, SG players aren't off to badly.
    Of course, in total the old-school and oldie HG players are the best and have the advantage :^)
    Brawl never really managed that, which is something that I personally see as a fault.
