Hello folks. Nobody likes getting killed or getting arrested. That's a given. But then the fact you need to mine ores in a prison for your bounty to go down doesn't fill people with happiness either. I'm going to suggest a couple of idea to make the mines a more bearable place for those who are unfortunate to give it a visit.

    1. People being able to pay off (X) amount off of your bounty.

The bail system currently works where you can pay off the full amount of somebodies bounty while they reside in the not so pleasant prison. I think it would be a great addition if when we /bail, we are able to pay off an amount from the person's bail. For example, TwisterPvP is in prison with a 10,000 bounty. Dave has 3000 dollars in his wallet, so he can /bail, press on TwisterPvP's head and 3000 bounty gets taken away from my bounty and Dave loses the 3000 dollars. I think this would be a great addition.

    2. A rare quartz ore which can spawn.

The best ore which you can currently get in prison is the emerald, and that doesn't take away that much bounty if you have thousands. This is why I think there could be something like a new ore added, a quartz ore for example. This ore will be very rare, but it will add just that bit of hope that all prisoners desire. In my opinion, this elusive ore should have this effect: -10% off your bounty.

This might not seem like a lot, but if you have a 30,000 bounty, finding this ore will take away a massive 3000 off of your bounty. I think this would be a sound addition and should be considered.

    3. The coal ores get promoted to a higher tier of ore. @Fadaad8 's idea.

Yes, I've just nicked this idea from @Fadaad8 's thread but I also feel it is relevant here. If the prison mine is just plagued with coal and iron ores, it would be a good idea that every so often the ores promote themselves, upgrade themselves, into a higher tier of ore. This would make the prison mining experience much more bearable and will all round reduce the amount of time you will need to spend in the mine without it being too overpowered.

I hope you enjoyed reading through these ideas. Any feedback will of course be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading.

I like the ideas, but how bout sheriffs just don't cuff players with illegal items, just kill them when/if they attempt to attack you. If they don't try to attack you, and show no sign of doing so, then you may cuff them. When Players with illegals items are cuffed, their bounty will go up by a lot more than it was before they got cuffed. If you don't cuff them, then they will have to mine less amounts of ores, allowing them to get back into the game quicker. Still +1 on all the ideas.

We're discussed cuffs many times and they've been chopped and changed a lot. You're talking like a broken record. Cuffs don't need a change.

I have to agree with you, maybe lower the bounty for each illegal item? But there is a chance or a rework/reset for Wild West, and if this happens, staff should have a few changes for sheriffs, so everything should be quite balanced then.

These suggestions don't make being in prison suck any less, it just means you can get out quicker. This is certainly an improvement, but I think there's a better way to going about it.

I'd rather see a system put in place which let's people get out of prison instantly if they want to, but also stops players from getting gear and going back to where they die too quickly.

Can you elaborate on your idea? More detail?

I'm not saying change cuffs, just to change the mentality of sheriffs, in trying to kill players instead of cuffing them.

I understand what you mean, but what can a sheriff do when they see an ark procing person or someone in leather.

Maybe make it where when you get sent to jail you stay there for 2 minutes and be let out? By the time your out the body should have despawned.

Although then this would make bounty quite useless.

Maybe staying in jail for a period of time depending on your bounty, of course there should be a max limit, like 30k max and stay in jail for 15 minutes for 30k bounty? And if you have 30k+ bounty it should still be 15 minutes, because we don't want people with 100k+ staying in jail for 2 hours.

As I said in @Fadaad8 his thread, I think the points that go off your bounty right now, should be 2x times. What I mean is
Coal would be -10 (not sure)
Iron would be -20 (not sure
    Gold would be -50
    Diamond would be -80
    Emerald would be -100

As you all probs know, these are the ores for ELITE, but I think this should be the same for non-ranked-players.

The biggest issue is that coal sticks around. If there hasn't been a reset in a while, it can be hard to mine off a large bounty.

What if we added a second area of the prison that was only a new type of ore, worth 5 less than Gold? That would create a reliable, consistent option for those with larger bounties. You could walk downstairs and go into this new area, which would be slower than a fresh (current) prison but faster than a mined out (current) prison. This area could safely be made to be much larger, since you wouldn't have to worry about people just running around to all the emeralds.
