I'm looking for a gaming laptop, not a desktop. I'd like one that's affordable, but can also handle bigger games, (settings on high, with little or no lag). My price range is 900-1400 dollars, and no, I can't build one, cause I'm too dumb to know how lol.
So if you guys could just name some good brands, or good computers, or even just tell me what to look for in a good one, I would very much appreciate it.

P.S. I would love one with a backlit keyboard.
    Thanks in advance! ~Ao

Not good with gaming laptops, better with custom desktop builds.

Could you tell us which games you would like to play on that laptop? In your price range you could get something along the lines of i7-7700HQ and a GTX 1060, which could handle most games just fine. Just be careful when looking for reviews of the graphic card: Laptops usually have a graphic card with the same name as the desktop version, but lower performance.

However, you should also consider if you really need a laptop or if a desktop PC would also work. Laptops always perform worse in games for their worth.

Affordable gaming laptops that can handle bigger games... Good luck with that.

If you want a laptop that can play big games you'll have to pay a lot.

I don't have room for a desktop... At least right now I don't.

Well if I do get one, my dad will most likely be paying for it, and I don't think he'd want to go over 1400

In your budget you should expect a 1060 6 GB, some i7, and a hdd/ssd combo in your laptop.

Before you buy a laptop, watch this video:

Lower end of your budget $900 on sale (1060 3GB/6300hq/1tb hdd): https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=1TS-001A-00487

    On budget (1060 6GB/7700hq/1 tb hdd + 256 gb ssd OR 128 GB ssd): https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834233201 or https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA57X62E5251

The second option above is if you don't need as much "fast" storage (256 GB SSD vs 128 GB SSD), but should not impact game performance in any way.

It's got a slow 5400 RPM hdd, you probably don't need 2 TB, and the price is a bit high compared to similar items considering its on sale.
