So true! Every KOTH you run up to Meta/Vanta attempt to knock then just throws slowness and poison on our whole team, then cause you don't want to fight us (because you don't want to loose your P4) you run away and when we catch you up you panic and kite for 2 mins, then jump in the end (when it wasn't 10 sec). Then you also get your depth strider then just run to the lake and run off again then come back 2 minutes later. I feel like you can't really make a statement like that if you are notorious and known to do it most times when pvping. I respect your idea but you have to understand what I am saying here.

What you like about KOTHs. - I like it when everyone is getting ready to fight and then a burst of Legacy and Mel0n comes charging down the plains and everyone gets chased away by the winners (meta/vanta)
What you dislike about KOTHs.-I dislike it when people kite and debuff (as you can see above) But I also dislike the prizes as you go to KOTH completely destroy your armour or loose it sometimes then get your key and you win 32 obby and 64 gold and at the end of it you just think 'well that wasn't exactly worth it'. I also dislike when teams just constantly knock then run away until KOTHS been going on for 2 hours as you almost feel like you have to stay till the end or it won't be worth the damage to your armour. Maybe make a time limit to KOTH (1 hr 30 mins)??
Whether you think they should be kept, removed, changed etc.- I think they SHOULD be kept as I do like getting everything neatly set up for KOTH then just the trill I guess. Also I feel like its the only time I see some people on the team or on other teams.
Whether you think there should be more.- I do as KOTH can go late into the night sometimes and I know some other people feel this way so maybe an EU one ( maybe 9:00am in the UK??)
What improvements you think could be made.- less pits as it is so easy for you to be fighting and a noob run up and punch you into a pit, then you get pinned down and can't get back up. Also better prizes that make it worth going to KOTH ( as above)
Alternatives to KOTHs (Automat-able). GET THE ARENA WORKING!!! xD we didn't take forever building it for nothing xD

 

I've articulated my points to the staff team privately, but I believe I should outline them here so my stance is known. I don't really like KOTHs current format, but I am hard pressed to find a suitable replacement. The best I can think of is something similar to the event we held at the beginning of the map with a few tweaks. Where it would be teams competing weekly for rewards by grinding mobs, mining ores etc. Or, if you hit a certain point threshold, that could unlock some sort of different event where teams who hit the threshold could compete.

 

I don't really understand this. Maybe you don't like PvP much but for myself and many others, koth and PvP are the main reasons I play raid. Grinding mobs and mining ores is the boring part, I like forward to raiding and fighting other players. Perhaps this could be an additional kind of event but if you look at the player count during koth, it's often twice as large. Koth is one of the biggest attractions of raid as it's one of the only chances to have large team fights. If you removed koth you'd be removing a big part of the gamemode.

 

It's not that I don't like PvP - I just don't know if it's best represented through KOTHs. I feel like that with this discussion a better alternative to KOTHs could be found. Whenever I've played during KOTHs they've been fairly one sided, either Vanta/Meta winning fairly easily or Legacy. I think the event caters to only the more competitive players of Raid. Which is a small portion of the community as a whole. Yes - player counts rise during KOTHs but not all those players compete in KOTHs. Something more rounded, in my opinion would get a larger portion of the community involved. Sorry if that's not well articulated, it's just what I can think of right now.

 

that idea sounds exactly like something literally any legacy member would say and/or agree with im sorry to say. i mean, the idea sounds alright and could be implemented, but that really sounds like legacy is gonna benefit ALOT from it since they cant pvp (not hate, kinda saying the blunt truth) with your idea you just mentioned, theyd win that constantly bc me and the rest of vanta really dont give a sh*t about grinding and all that

I sat at my desk thinking for about 10 minuets and here is what i came up with:
I think that there should be either 1v1's or 2v2's once a week or so and fight like a tournament for a prize like gold and the more wins that a player gets the more gold is given to them for example lets say it was player 1 vs player 2 and player 1 won, and at the same time there was player 4 and player 3 fighting a 1v1 and player 4 won. then player 4 vs player 1 and player 4 won. i think player 4 should get the best prize player 1 should get a medium prize and third place should get a bad prize. I know I didn't have to explain it like that but I needed to make my point clear encase there were any misunderstandings. Another thing that comes to my mind that is unfair is that you have to bring your own gear but if you think about they are the ones who worked for the gear so I have no right or anyone else to say that you should all have the same gear when you fight. I also think that there should be events at different times because of timezone issues players can't control were they live. Maybe as a solution to this problem one week it is est time and another week it is on a different timezone, then you go back to est time. I thought of this solution because some people could have 2 KOTH's a week or 2 events a week because they can stay up late or get up early so this solution limits it to 1 event a week. This is only an idea that probably will not happen but please tell me your opinions on this suggestion.

 

I like this idea DanielKid50, a group of players built an arena and the MODS and SMODS and ADMINS and other staff supported us during the whole process of building it. It was supposed to be made for pretty much exactly what you have just said but once it was finished being build the staff forgot about it.

I personally just think pearls should be able to be used around spawn and there should be a pvp timer added where you cannot re-enter spawn within 30 seconds of being hit by another player, being able to get around a KOTH with pearls and get into it to knock would be a lot more effective.

say what you want, but legacy already has a rep for running lol whenever anyone brings up running, everyone will think of legacy
