It's time to make the next step boys, it's time for protest and rivalry. Let the war begin. I'm not going to be my normal toxic self since that won't actually do anything but bring us back to where we started and also get me banned on the forums. We're going to do this in a civil manner, we'll start simple. With a petition.

This post is not going to be some cute little discussion about if it's good or bad, you should already know that and chosen your side at this time. Out of reading countless threads arguing the 2 sides I've come to conclusion that the vast majority of the community wants Brawl to implement a screensharing based on the countless threads and the arguments presented within them.

There have been countless threads on this, I understand this thoroughly. The problem is that nothing has been done yet for the same bull**** reason every time it's brought up. "Screensharing is an invasion of privacy." I firmly believe that if an individual is not using illegal modifications, they have nothing to hide and should not be afraid to go through the process. Think of the concept like its border control. Answer honestly, and do what is asked, and you'll be fine. Staff members shall be trained to do only the necessities and only ask questions when needed. They shall understand that what they are doing is confidential and what happens in a screenshare stays there, no questions asked. For legal purposes, all major Frozen Orb services (MineHQ, Arcane, Velt, SkylandKits, and Ultra) include in their terms of service policy that they reserve the right to deny service to players who refuse to screenshare upon request.

Above will be a poll where you can "sign" the petition.

I, member of the Brawl community, am in favour and support of implementing a screensharing system to help reduce the number of players using illegal modifications giving one an unfair advantage against others. I am ok with a member of the Brawl staff team using screenshare software to gain temporary control over my computer in order to obtain solid evidence if I am worthy of a punishment on the Brawl network.

Please remember that guidelines/screensharing conduct is not important as of right now. The focus of this thread is to show the Brawl staff team the percentage of players who are in favour for the implementation of a screensharing system to be implemented into the Brawl network.

    Thank you.

17 dudes on a forum does not count as "the vast majority" of the community, not that popularity is relevant to a good decision anyway

screensharing is impractical, invasive, and time consuming. -1

People could see my private ****. I have essays, photos, porn. I have personally things that someone could see saved to my computer. It is an invasion of privacy. If I could trust someone not to look at my private stuff and look for solely clients then I'd be all for it. Frankly, I don't trust someone looking through my stuff.

"impractical" you only need to screen share fishy people and most pvp servers do it
"invasive" only if the staff dont know what they are doing
"time consuming" you only need to screen share fishy people and it gets rid of a lot of cheaters

they don't need to have control of your PC and don't need to look in photos docs or videos in an ss

    >How do you find those fishy people in the first place? Why don't we ban them instead? What happens if a client can hide itself in Minecraft? The %appdata% directory can be messed with to the point where your versions folder looks completely clean.

    >Again, how do we find these fishy people? Is it chat reports? If it is, does everyone reported need to screenshare? What about kids without Discord or Skype?

    >You're ignorant to the fact that screensharing IS time consuming. Hypothetical; A player looks fishy, the mod pms them that they want to screenshare. Again, what if they don't have Discord or Skype? So, that aside, the mod joins the call, sees absolutely nothing, and has just either A. wasted his time or B. gotten fooled because jar. files. and. jsons. can. be. manipulated.

Also is there a time limit to how fast you HAVE to screenshare? Say it's 5 minutes, I'm busy in the bathroom, I come back and I'm banned because I was AFK and didn't respond. How on Earth do I properly appeal that without being told I'm a liar?

Screensharing is way too invasive, it doesn't work all the time, it takes time out of the moderators' days (I mean they're not doing much already), and it's a huge hassle to the entire player base.
