Unfair Advantage...

There are not a lot of raid servers left, and this causes people to play on the server, even though they get 300 ping. You can't ban people from this server, for the reason that they get an "unfair advantage", because they never chose to get this advantage.

 

Unfortunately unfair advantage tends to mean cheats. While that particular part of this is something I'll leave from here (heh), I think what Ryan is saying is in itself fair enough and it does warrant a bit of discussion. I'm German and tend to play on German servers and am very much used to getting 30-60ms. I get 120ms to Brawl with my terrible internet and PvP on Brawl feels so...strange. Whenever I play against someone with even higher ping, even with 150ms, it becomes very difficult to hit them due to hit registration issues. People with high MS also take delayed KB (and sometimes less KB because some of your knockback dealing hits don't register) which can be highly frustrating. This high MS does NOT excuse from cheating, however, but that's beside the point.
My point being that very high (or very low) MS does give you some advantages and disadvantages, most EU people however are basically stuck in the middle.

 

Maybe this thread should be moved since its not just talking about raid? Like general discussion or off topic since it really doesn't just apply to raid. On a side note I really don't think players should just be banned for their ping since anyone could lag. I for one typically get 40 ms on brawl but at times I get these spikes on my internet and go up to 150 to 300 ms which can provide an advantage or disadvantage for me since I am not used to the ms and move like an enderman and then freeze and die at times. Ping really shouldn't be punishable is what I am trying to get at since it can be a pain for both sides.

I never asked to have ping like this, sure it has its ups and downs, but I never asked to get 300ms. I also have never had people angry at me about my ping till recent so I dont know whats up with that. This is just one of those things you will have to live with. banning someone because of their ping is ridiculous.

You hinting towards these players are actually cheating :?

 

It's like some of the kids on hypixel asking for players to get banned for having higher cps and getting people banned for having a mouse LOL

 

So this thread is mainly you hackusating others? i understand that reach is not skill based and neither is knock back but it seems more like you have beef against them rather than stating a point of connection.

 

Gotta admit you have a good point there. I played with a VPN that routed my traffic to middle Africa first which gave me 290ms and, well, I didn't get reach :v

This would not really be considered an unfair advantage if they can not control their ping. An unfair advantage is like auto clicking and or using a hacked client. Even a macro could be considered cheating but, that is up to the server to decide. I have seen people call out reach against me when I have over 200 ms or 40 ms its just that some players can't tell. it is really hard to tell if a player is using reach or if it is just their connection.

 

@All NO voters: what would you do:
Tomorrow i buy an alt download a gc which gives me 50% less kb and 4.5Blocks reach and hack on raid. Noone knows me and therefore you cant know that i am actually hacking and if sb hackaccusates me i am going to blame my ping for it.

Tell me what you are going to do?
Nothing correct because you cant know if i am actually hacking or not.
Give me 1 reason why i shouldnt do this?

That seems more like a blatant client or a gc with the settings on full blast and is an overstatement on the kits that Dekrah and Ruski get. Also they knock back difference is significant as well.

the lag i am referring to can differ. Also is it really unfair for them to get bad ping? Think about it if you lived somewhere for a long time you really aren't getting an advantage since you are just used to the connection you have and use what you have.

Check tab or use a mod that shows other players connections to tell if you actually have bad ping ( I have the mod on in general) Plus a Mod+ can check if you are an alt or not.
