Remove or Fix Infect

    The infect game mode on War 2.0 is completely pay to win and almost impossible to win on most maps if you don't have the perks the Elite rank gives you.

    Example:

    Spot on roof on the map Favela right next to the zombie spawn. Only way to get up there is to climb this ladder:

    Which is also coincidentally right next to the spot. The people up there are able to shoot down at the ladder with ease, as well as access rooftops that are normally inaccessible, winning them the game. Only way to kill these people (unless the people camping up there are bots) is by using tomahawks/grenades, items you cannot obtain unless you pay for the Elite rank.

    This is just one of many spots on most of the maps in the infect playlist. The game mode is very unbalanced, and nearly impossible for zombies to win without the elite perks.

    Either fix the spots, or give everybody access to grenades/tomahawks.

    Imo I think there should be an option to buy a grenade/tomahawk for a certain amount of credits every time a zombie respawns.

    We make a war map and we use it for all sorts of different gamemodes. It's very hard to design a map which works well on every gamemode, so we shouldn't use a map on every single gamemode.

    Design a map for TDM, use it in TDM. Design a map for Infect, use it in Infect. Don't design a map for one gamemode, and use it for all gamemodes. Perhaps we'd need more builds, but we have a build team for a reason and War 2.0 is more important than their current project IMO.

    I completely agree with you.
    As a zombie, elite+ should spawn with a grenade, and everyone else should have the option to buy tomahawks/grenades with in game credits.

    And/or spots like these could be changed (however most op camping spots in infect have been removed in 2.0)

    I personally disagree. (I agree with everything else you said.) There are still numerous OP spots that should be fixed.

    Its definitely a lot better than 1.0

    Favela rooftops as @tallscot has shown, Cove's water and plane near zombie spawn, Carrier's little building straight off zombie spawn, Grind's spawn, there's a small building in mid on Rundown that is accessible by parkour, there is platform on each side in the Survivor's spawn on Hijacked, etc. (There are more I think, I just don't remember them at this moment.)

    I wouldn't really consider most of those spots op, and many of them can not be fixed because they are just part of the map. The only spots that should be fixed are the ones that can only be accessed with recoil, or like on this thread the parkour.

    I personally think some of the spots I mentioned are OP, but I understand that they cannot be fixed because they are apart of the map. Because of this, I think this somewhat supports that it should be removed. Or removed at least for a time until changes are made. Usually all an Infected game is the Survivors kinda just farming kills from the Infected until the game ends. Because of this, being Infected is no fun and like myself and I think others, we just sit afk in spawn (unless being spawncamped) or spectate until the game ends.

    'Fixing infect' is definitely on the list of things to do, as are many other things. An in-game shop is what we're looking at (like most of you have said), but Sig has been busy with other things. Hopefully this will happen #soon.

    Hopefull it won't happen #soon, because that means it'll happen in 2020.

    No, this won't fix anything. It will only make tomahawks and nades aviable to some non-donors who a. Have the money to buy them (if they cost nothing you might as well give them to everyone for free), b. Knows about them (hi this is an overly complicated gamemode already) and c, want's to spend gems on trying to do something that will worsen their kdr anyways.

    The plan is:
    We would create a shop similar to Legacy War's shop. From it you will be able to buy Grenades, Tomahawks, Armor, etc. for one round. We will need to settle on a price that isn't too expensive (so people to can buy them regularly), but also isn't too cheap so that everyone will have it like you're saying.

    To your b and c, this shop isn't just for infect - people will be able to buy these things during any game.

    To not 'over-complicate' things, we will probably make an Shop NPC in spawn that you can't miss. You will also be able to buy things using commands.

    Honestly it could be better if we switched back to the old system, nametags and everything. I think we can all agree thar the old infect was more enjoyable. Even ray gunners had their spot in the game. Before I got ray gun (at like lvl 105) I used to use iso and skull in infect and get better scores than the ray gunners. They were more of a cover up for me, since a person using a normal gun can't obviously defend against an army of zombies.

    Nametags were also important since it made the game more equal. Now zombies can just rush from the bushes but survivors have basically no advantage since they are camping in one spot, and can't move, so zombies already know where they are.

    Zombies were able to buy grenades which also made the game more fair as campers/ray gunners could be reached. It was also a hefty sum for 1 grenade back then; 100 credits was a lot back then for a noob. The equavalent of that today would be around 1000 credits.

    Another important aspect was that survivors and zombies had killstreaks. EMP was the most important one, especially for zombies. Maybe make zombies get EMP for a 5ks, and survivors get sentry at around 10ks, maybe even nuke at 30? This would be a replacement for ray gun and reward the best shooters in the match.

    In conclusion:
    • Add back visible nametags
    • Enable buying 1 grenade for about 1000 credits for zombies. ELITEs remain to have their EULA breaking grenade.
    • Add back EMP for zombies at 5ks, it would be available for all zombies from every level range
    • Add sentry as a killstreak for survivors at 10-15ks, when the survivor dies it disappears. Possibly add nuke as well at 30ks. Both killstreaks can only be used when they have been bought. Would be a replacement for ray gun in Legacy
    Advertise this^^^ might as well fix infect for good.

    1. Are you planning on adding purchasable armor like from Legacy? I really have a big problem with this. This makes it even harder for low-levels to kill higher-level players, which already is hard enough for them. I feel adding this will cause an even bigger imbalance, possibly causing more players to leave. I can already tell players leave because they join and get their butts handed to, and I really don't think this would help. So *please* take this into consideration if you are really planning on adding armor.
    2. So are you planning on removing the ability to permanently unlock the Lethals (&/or Tacticals?) from level and instead you want them to be purchasable each round? I personally don't like that. I think this also kinda creates another high-level players and donor advantage, as they have more credits, so they will be able to buy this stuff, but non-donors will not as easily.

    It's not final yet, and hasn't been developed yet. We shall see, you're right about that and we would make it noob friendly.
    No, buying lethals and tacticals from the shop with credits will just add to your permanent lethals and tacticals.
