1. I don't like how you act in the OP like people following religion hasn't hurt anybody, people have killed themselves for being an "abomination" and I can't forget to mention how much conflict and wars it has started.

Because Jesus who proved to be God fulfilled what the bible says, and his followers wrote the last quarter or so of the chapters in the bible.

1. Yeah most wars weren't caused by a lot of things. Wars have a lot of different causes. But religion is a big one (Crusades, 9/11, colonialism) so why don't we address that?

2. Gehenna, it's not about finding an ape-skull and saying "that's human". It's saying "that's something in between a human and a chimpanzee". For example there is countless evidence that there were pre-humans who are descended from an ancestor who resembles more of a chimpanzee, but they stood on two legs and used tools. Pre-humans like homo erectus, homo habilis. How do you explain this? Thousands of biologists and archaeologists around the world have studied these fossils and all come to the same conclusion - it's our evolutionary ancestor. It is impossible to deny the existence of all of these species, the fossil evidence is overwhelmingly. Homo erectus and homo habilis are real. Neanderthals are real, Australopithecus Afarensis is real. Now none of these species could really be mistaken for human. Scientific reconstructions of what they would've looked like, as well as bone structure and other things, show us that these creatures look significantly more ape-like than we do. But to look at Homo erectus and say it's equivalent to a chimpanzee at the zoo is just plain wrong - it's more intelligent, it can use tools and fire, it stands on two legs and it just looks different. So what happened to all of these species, Gehenna? If you tell me they died in the flood, you're directly going against your own scripture - two of every animal got on board, yes? Did we kill them all? In the space of about 5,000 years we killed off about a dozen species of pre-humans, all of which are quite intelligent and most of which can use tools and fire? And was this at the same time we were killing off all the thousands of species of dinosaurs? Wow, humans in ancient times had a lot going on trying to kill off species so you wouldn't have to explain how they got there.

3. No, you can't. Maybe the guy got the idea from someone who had been visited by the great Flying Spaghetti Monster himself. You can't prove it's made-up. This is the problem. If you can't prove it's made-up, then the burden of prove lies on the believer to prove that his god is real. Where's the proof?

The Bible isn't the only source of knowing who Jesus was and what he did. Jesus and his works are mentioned in:

• Pliny the younger
• Flavius Josephus
• The Talmud
• Mara
• Suetonius
• Tacitus

These aren't Christian works, either. Jesus and what he did is part of world history

The Bible has some historical things, and some theoretical things. I'm not an expert, so I can't tell you what's history and what's a 'story'. It's not all to be taken literally. I can prove to you God created the world in a PM, don't want to gum this thread up xD
