Idea [Question] End Cartel?

    So about a year ago I was brainstorming up some ideas to encourage PvP / end activity and thought of having an ongoing event that would somehow provide an advantage to your entire team.

    This is what I had at the time:
    • Have a castle like base in the end that players need to capture
    • Have it 150 blocks out (in the void)
      • Players would need to build out to it
    • Players need to race to get there, building is on

    • Event is scheduled for once or twice a week
      • Team that holds it for the longest within x time?

      • Similar to koths?
        • See if WW cartel system would work
    • Once captured, 10% of all shop sales will go to the team’s balance?
      • Subtracted from what the seller would get

      • So like an added tax
    Ok so thinking about this now, gaining a % of shop sales would be WAY too OP. Adding onto my other post about my raid rework proposal, quickly brainstorming / revising this idea has lead me to this:

    • If team point / ranked system is added, have capturing the cartel contribute points for holding it the longest
    • If not added, some other reward would need to be given (think of ideas)
      • Gold thing could work if the % was VERY small, and added to a team balance or something
      • Only would give gold tax for X days in between events
    • Have a huge ass end castle that would serve as a KOTH and a defend / attack the castle
      • Design must be very good if it is in the void floating, multiple entry points and prevent bow spamming people bridging to it
      • Have the castle still there after event is over, timer would be off though
      • Building on, but have obsidian skeleton to make sure no tnt
    • Have it randomly spawning a couple times a week or scheduled (what would be fair to people from odd time zones)
    • How would it work if multiple teams are at the cartel / how would tracking the "capture" work? Test WW system / ask someone
    • Other ideas / concerns:
      • Have the castle on land, would probably be easier, but less fun imo
      • Custom end build around this castle / event (Our plans are around on build somewhere @Eil for the last one we tried to make)
      • How would dragon interact with this thing?
    This is mainly just a rough outline for Eil to help communicate my ideas, but I would like the community's feedback on this and any other ideas / answers to the gaps in this idea. Let me know what you think.

    Side note: Remember the end of map period for the last 1.7 map? The end was filled with pvp, there were castles / structures everywhere and it was really really fun - I basically want to recreate that and have it around all the time. I want the end to be a dangerous area with high pvp, high reward and looking sick af.

    I like the idea but it sounds a bit too much like a koth so if it wasn't events and just a perm capture point like the cartels in ww it would be better.
    Just so long as its hard/time consuming to cap eg. 35min for 1 player to cap and take 3min from the cap time for every teammate in the cap zone and add back 3 if they leave the zone

    I agree, it would need to be more different than koths. I did intend for this idea to be rather long compared to koths. So you are suggesting it's always active then? So essentially identical to the cartels in WW?

    Yeah, I don't know how the ww cap times change with more team members on the cap area but I don't want it to be something a noob can just cap in 10-15min solo
    So maybe 35min cap for 1 member
    -3min from the cap time for every teammate
    +3 min if a teammate leaves the area
    And no time changing from players entering/ leaving in the last 8min (teammates entering can't insta cap from the -3min if they enter the zone)
    And there is no single player as the capper that can be knocked or killed, Just the team caps aslong as there is a member in the zone

    I have been builder on a different server and can help ye build it if you want
