    Hey guys,
Talking from a general point of view, not my personal feeling here.

We all know that some players regret legacy war, mainly because they lost their stats, or they don't enjoy war 2.0 for whatever reason. Understandable tbh, us war players are attached to our high kdr.

I can name a few of them; BenoitPR and Bralis, both were 100+. More recently Mommo... 60+ iirc, and a lot more who just don't speak about it.

Keeping the idea short clear & basic:
As a way to succeed 'War fun Sundays' that used to be a thing, every Sunday, the legacy server replaces the current War we have.

I think it is a good way to get some of our players back, also for some nostalgia! Don't you want to experiment the old mechanics again? The old infect? Controversial in the title, because you might think that it's just gonna be the "constant ray spam during infect" again, or that the devs didn't work for 4 years to release a gamemode that we don't fully play.

And finally, I think that our kills, deaths, credits earned, everything that happens in legacy War during these Sundays should be kept in your War 2.0's stats as well as added to your legacy big stats.

I'll let you debate on what do you think about this.

    Cya in-game.

    Nah:
    • Hella confusing for new players
    • Only people that would like this are old grunts fantasizing about their past of killing noobs with unbalanced guns
    • Would lower the player base since noobs wouldn't know what to do (first point)
    • At least 80% of current War 2.0 players are new to War and would just get pissed/confused if some "Legacy" is played

Im not really a fan of this, I think that War Fun Sundays should continue on War 2.0, not on legacy.

I like the idea of legacy war on certain days for old players in events but not replacing. Killing noobs with iso, raygun, skully, minigun, law, and cbow would ruin the game for first time players.

I think having some similar things like bringing back legacy MC-War is a good idea, but tbh if this happens every week it's not gonna be fun for the people who actually enjoy War 2.0 and it'll be weird for the NEW people playing this game since they are used to more of the new things in War 2.0. Great idea that should be used for something else than every other Sunday.

I think something like this would be bad for the community, confusing the newer players, as mentioned above, but I definitely think some sort of event for people who prefer legacy should be up. Maybe running while War 2.0 is still running too, have an event for the people who want to play legacy and they can go on and play, once every week/fortnight and do a War Fun Sundays sort of thing where they choose the maps. I think something like this could be great for the people who miss Legacy.

    Thanks for your answers everyone!
Indeed, it might be really confusing for new players and such.
    Good idea, bad execution..

Yes, that would be better. Setting up a sort of weekly event on legacy, but with 2.0 still running.

I don't think the problem lies with having to start over, because if someone can't accept change, they're going to have a hard time in life. I think the problem lies in the fact that there's no more super OP guns to farm stats with, making it slightly more difficult to level up and gain stats if you're not as good as you thought you were using those guns. However, if you're actually good, it's easier to get your stats up because now guns actually require some level of skill, and if you can utilize the guns better than someone else who relied on OP gun farming, you'll rise up in the ranks no problem.

Dear god... Please don't replace War 2.0 with Legacy, especially on a weekend day... Do you understand how much confusion this would cause for new players...? Imagine this: "Hey friends, let's go play War 2.0... wait a minute... where the hell did it go? They removed it? I'm leaving the server, bye." Not to mention, It will be hella annoying for people who aren't consumed by the nostalgia of OP gun farming and inferior gameplay because they can't play the superior War 2.0.

Old mechanics were trash compared to war 2.0 except for close-quarters shooting, both infects are absolutely horrid, even though Legacy was worse with all that, yes, ray spam. If you have genuine nostalgia, sure, that's okay. It's nice to reflect back on the old times and what not, but I don't think nostalgia alone is enough to make Legacy a more prominent gamemode like it was in its prime time. Let the thing rest for god's sake.

So you're tryna tell me that we should let players abuse the fact they can use OP guns again, and reward them by adding those stats to their actual score on War 2.0...? Controversial indeed.

-1. Anybody who actually wants Legacy to be more focused on is just upset that they lost their OP guns, fake stats, and/or can't handle building themselves back up, because again, genuine nostalgia shouldn't be enough to make Legacy a more integral part of the current Brawl experience. That, or they're being stubborn for the sake of it. I know this post is coming off a bit flame-y, but that's what happens when you don't sugarcoat anything. Hope it isn't too passive aggressive to understand or relate to. Thanks.

No need to go over your points, you're pretty much right on every side. Good idea, bad execution as I've said earlier.

Also to avoid confusion, I don't speak here from a personal point of view. I really enjoy War 2.0, and I'm not mad about my stats being lost. I did the thread to see what does the community think. Didn't even come up with the general idea myself, lol
