Idea Koth changes?

    I think the majority of Raids playerbase likes koths, however many of us want some changes.
    This thread should serve to evaluate what players want. Please just post your ideas and dont criticise others ideas. If you want to make an extra thread with a poll.

    My suggestions are:
    -Add a certain amount of time a team has to cap ( I think 30 minutes would be good) to win the koth.
    -Dont reward the entire team with kothkeys. Make kothkeys more valuable but only 3, 4,or 5members receive a key. This might avoid crossteaming of 3 different teams and "Koth truces"with 15 players

    I recommend doing a lot of testing with various different changes. If something doesnt work out you can change it back for the next weeks koth.

    Arenas need to be changed imo. They seem too small and waaaaaay to tilting get knocked off so easily. I also think that the fights should be centralized around the actual koth platform, instead of having to chase a team away from them, let them cap for 7 mins, then knock them off and repeat it. I would love a much larger, multi-platform arena-style build instead of the current ones I suppose.

    Having the team capture it might make things more frustrating, as you would need to knock every single team member off or kill them, no? I think the system should track whoever is standing on the platform after the first person, and if the first person is knocked off, the timer would then hold, say 2 minutes off of the time cap as an advantage of sort to make things less tilting. Realizing this probably makes zero sense to anyone but me, I will just leave this example as an explanation:

    I am the first one capturing the koth. Then Melvin is on the hill after me. I then get knocked off by sub and their hooligans, but instead of the koth timer resetting, Melvin would then get 2 minutes subtracted off the time he needs to cap since he was the second one on the platform (so he now needs to cap for 5:30).

    You could have this rule only apply to teammates, or just in general - not sure how pacing would be affected under each circumstance.

    I agree koth could use some changes, but, respectfully, don’t think this is a step in the direction needed.

    -This point could be good I suppose with some tweaking, but what do you mean by this? The KOTH’s still last past 30 mins but if a team doesn’t cap in 30 minutes from touching it they are just out of the race and other teams can get it? Seems pointless and frustrating and would encourage just sending in the suicide squad to knock people.
    - I do not agree with this at all. Having a random group of members get a key would be extremely frustrating and would lower the people who played koth, IMO. Playing koth requires using a set of p4 and a god sword with tons of pots, that’s lot of resources on your body, and it’s too much of a risk for those who don’t have the p4 to just spare for a chance you will get absolutely nothing from it instead of maybe a couple pieces of loot from someone you and you team killed? I know you’re trying to stop people combining teams but like the Alting problem there’s no reliable way to stop it. (Also, I’m not sure why you want to stop this in the first place. Sub doesn’t combine times, we just recruit new members and don’t ally with anyone. An example of combining teams would be like you did 3 weeks ago, when legacy and hyrax and some of skid created a temp team for koth.)
    - I do agree with @0racle ’s point on changing the arenas though, and the koth timer changes are interesting and would be cool to see.

    All around, koth could use some changes but I think that this would make it WAY worse in the long run

    Once again every team can make a koth group in which every member gets a koth key but with max 4 members. We would have 4 or 5 different teams then and koth would definitely be more interesting.

    I use 100 gold + every koth for pots.

    This would be excellent in theory, but in reality nothing would change because even with Smaller teams they would still ally and it would only result in less members getting keys than before. Example: legacy has 10 members; meaning 2 teams of 5 for KOTH, but they are still a team meaning they are allied (no reason to fight your teammates) and only one legacy team agrees to get the koth key and overall just ends up with less loot. While it would be nice to have more smaller teams in theory it’s just not reasonable unfortunately.

    It's all about you guys recruiting more members, just like we recently got few new members. It's all up to your team owners do they want more people on the team or not. If some of my teammates are never joining koth, I wouldn't probably keep them in the team for very long.

    After thinking about things for a while now after the last KOTH and my survey, here is my suggestion:

    - Make KOTH Platform ~3x larger
    - Reduce building limit on KOTH area by 25 blocks each direction
    - Temporarily buff rewards by giving a flat amount of xp, a set of reg dia and 32 gold in addition to the crate keys
    - Maybe reduce capture time by a very small amount

    Ideally this would be added in the next week or two.

    Other ideas I am thinking of:

    - Add a safety net of sort when capture time reaches 1 min to make knocking the player off harder / make the SUB issue harder to do lol
    - Revamp arena design totally, reshape and whatnot
    - Rework capturing system as previously mentioned
    - Add a way to prevent trucing if possible (If a player on another team is nearby you on the koth platform for X amount of time have some sort of unattractive feature?)

    To conclude, changes NEED to be made very soon, as the last KOTH was extremely frustrating and not that fun imo.
