    Lets say someone calls you a noob and says you never made a map, if it said who the map was by, it would keep this from
    happening. For example lets say a good builder builds a map and forgets to put their name in it, someone might get on them about
    it and say that they're not telling the truth and they are a liar. That might make someone not want to come on the server again.

    In a-lot of maps it says who built it.

    As pikmin said, most map makers have a sign in the map saying they made it.
