What is your in-game name? - Versions

Is your Minecraft account secured and migrated?
    - Yes, it is secured and migrated, and I change my password every two months or so.

How old are you? - 16 years old

What time zone are you in?
    - BST (GMT+1)

Are you multilingual? Can you speak multiple languages?
    - Unfortunately, I cannot speak multiple languages and I can only speak English.

What is your experience and knowledge of Brawl? - Back in November 2014 is when I joined McPvP and played quite a lot of CTF. After enjoying my experience in McPvP, I joined Brawl when McPvP merged back in May 2015 and stuck with the community since then. However, I did take a short break in June/July 2015 until October 2015. I honestly cannot remember why I took that break. Before going on that short break, I joined my first CTF team called The Unicorns, which didn't last long as I took a break from CTF for a few months. After returning in October 2015, I joined another CTF team called The Paladins 2.0, which unfortunately did not last long, but regardless I stuck with the community and continued to play CTF. After The Paladins 2.0 disbanded, I joined one or two CTF teams but they also didn't last long. However, in June 2016, I created my first CTF team called Unity with a few friends and I would say that is my favourite team I've ever been in. Unlike the previous CTF teams I've been in, this lasted quite a while but unfortunately, things didn't go well in Unity and we disbanded in April 2017. It was a great run, but I had no choice so we decided to disband Unity. After this, I joined Radiance Reborn as a member and I also had a fun time being on that team due to the fact that I made more friends in the community. Unfortunately, RR disbanded a few months later, which was quite sad to see because I was only there for a few months. After this, I joined a fairly new team called Insurgence, which had a lot of my friends in. Although I was having a great time in Insurgence, problems developed at the start of 2018 and resulted in me leaving them to create a new team with a few other friends called BK 3.0. Despite only starting up as a team, we didn't last long unfortunately and we disbanded a few months later. Currently, I'm in The Adventurer as a member.

What is your experience with moderating servers, if any?
    - Before I even joined McPvP, I applied for a moderator position on a server that I was regularly playing on called ReactiveMC. I enjoyed their KitPvP gamemode and therefore applied for staff on KitPvP. After being accepted as moderator, I learnt the basic commands as a staff member, some basic moderating rules (which may not apply to Brawl since Brawl has completely different protocols to this server) and I also practised recording hackers and banning them. This was quite simple to do, but essential because it is a form of evidence if the banned player were to appeal for their ban. I managed to climb up to the admin rank on ReactiveMC until they, unfortunately, shut down in 2014 due to other reasons. Although they shut down in 2014, I had gained some experience as a staff member which will benefit me as a staff member on Brawl, if I were to be accepted.

Why do you want to become a moderator on Brawl?
    - I have several reasons why I want to become a moderator on Brawl. Firstly, I believe that I have a steady eye for hacks because whenever I believe someone is suspicious, I don't call them out instantly and that would also be an immature act, instead I analyse them by looking at how they're playing and PvPing. After this, I make the decision if they are actually cheating or not. This will massively benefit Brawl or any PvP server because the number of hackers has increased dramatically over the past few years and the types of hacks being used are sometimes hard to detect and could only be detected with a steady eye. However, I'd like to admit that my knowledge on hacks isn't perfect, but I think it's decent enough to make a difference on Brawl because the amount of ghost client users on most PvP servers is ridiculous and I want to help the Brawl staff team detect and punish them. Also, I can improve my knowledge so this isn't a huge problem in my opinion.

Furthermore, I'd also like to bring forward some of the decent ideas being created by the CTF community and also some of mine (here and here) because I and pretty much most of the community want to see changes to CTF, in order to retain the interest in the gamemode.

In addition to this, I love helping people and I want to continue helping people by answering some of the community's questions that only a staff member could answer and if there are no staff members available, I would be available to help out the community. Also, I am interested in becoming a ref, which will massively help CTF teams and increase the ref count as sometimes there may be no refs available to referee a CTF match.

Have you ever used a hacked client before? - Yes, I used a hacked client on Brawl between May 2017 and July 2017 and I regret using it, but you cannot change the past, unfortunately. However, I have learnt from my past mistake and I have not used a hacked client since then.

Have you ever been punished (banned, kicked, muted, etc) legitimately on a public Minecraft server? If so, why?
    - I have been banned twice on Brawl. The first ban was for "Hacked Client: Aim Assist" on Monday, the 3rd of July, 2017 and the ban was correct. I had personal problems during that time and I wrongly thought that the only way to let out my frustration was to cheat on the server I play on most: Brawl. However, there are other ways to let out my frustration, which I did not think back then, and this was a severe mistake that I can never take back. Although this ban may have shocked others, I decided to become a good person again and admit that I hacked in an appeal a month after I got banned. Fortunately, my appeal was accepted and I was free to play on Brawl again. After learning from my mistake, I decided not to ever hack on Brawl or on any game ever again because it is an unfair advantage against others and I should be playing legitimately, regardless of my problems in life. I'd like to also state that my 'personal problems' are definitely not an excuse why I was hacking, in fact, there is no excuse for hacking.

My second ban was for "Hacked Client: AutoText" on Friday, the 22nd of December, 2017. However, this was actually a false ban and I got unbanned by a staff member 10 minutes after I was banned.

What do you consider your greatest strength? - I am able to voice my opinion in the community and stand with it. If I think something is wrong, I am able to deal with it well without taking it too far and offending people. Adding onto this, I believe I have a fair and unbiased point of view on most topics, which could benefit me as a staff member because there could be a certain discussion about CTF (created by a community member), who would want opinions from staff members about the discussion, and I could easily achieve that.

What do you consider your greatest weakness?
    - My greatest weakness is that sometimes I get bored and 'mess around' in-game and on Discord. In those times, I am not serious as I should be and I could be portrayed as 'childish'. Examples of this can easily be found in the Brawl discord if you search under my name, however, I have realised this weakness a while ago and I'm still trying to improve this by refraining from being immature and childish.

Which Brawl server(s) are you most active on?
    - Capture The Flag.

How many Brawl staff applications have you made in the past? - None.

What is the date of the last application you submitted?
    - N/A

    Do you have Discord?
Yes, it is Matt | Versions#5719.

Anything else you would like to state? - I am currently part of the CTF Match Spotlight team, who streams and analyses official CTF matches, and my role there is a streamer. I also make the thumbnails for the YouTube streams.

If your application is accepted, you will move on to an interview on Discord.

Please insert a Yes / No poll below.

+1 / You applied!! I think your level of maturity is good, but I also like that you have a sense of humor and can joke around too so don’t lose that. Can confirm, you are kind and helpful, but can also be firm in a decision/opinion if you believe in it. Having the ability to balance both of those is a major strength in my opinion. You have great knowledge on the gamemode and would have great opinions to add to conversations regarding it. Also, being European in itself is a great thing since you can cover more times if our other EU mods cannot. Considering we are lacking EU mods, this is fantastic.
You have my support. Good luck, Matt !

I definitely think you are fit to be a staff member, you are mature and have good activity. Only thing I want to state is be careful when you mess around. I haven't noticed anything bad when you do mess around, but we all know that sometimes it can get out of hand. +1

    What a save!

You've definitely improved your maturity and trustworthiness since the ban incident. Only thing I would say is that I have not seen you in game much recently (although that could just be timezones / my own sporadic intervals of activity).

    Good luck with the app!

Thank you for the +1! I think it may just be timezones as I have been quite active recently.
