Brawl Junior Moderator Application​

What is your in-game name?- ArcticGalaxy

Is your Minecraft account secured and migrated?- My Minecraft account is secure and I am the only one with access to it.

How old are you?- 15

What time zone are you in?- Eastern Time Central (EST)

Are you multilingual? Unfortunately, I am only fluent in English. However, I am taking my 4th year in Spanish and have a decent range of vocabulary, grammar, and the ability hold a basic conversation.

What is your experience and knowledge of Brawl? Like many other players on CTF my experience with Brawl began when MCPVP moved CTF to Brawl. Ever since the move I have been playing CTF frequently since 2015 and obtained a pretty decent understanding of the community and the gamemode itself.

What is your experience with moderating servers, if any? I have not had any past experience with moderating a server. I have only heard and witnessed what other players have done.

Why do you want to become a moderator on Brawl? Despite all the jokes, I still do enjoy playing the gamemode and the community overall is pretty enjoyable. I would like to keep CTF “alive” with reworks, potential new classes, events. Personally there is only one thing that frustrates me about CTF, the amount of hackers and how often they are punished. I am able to record videos and upload them to youtube, and although the quality is not superb, it is better than nothing. I also do not hackusate every player that beats me, I am aware that I am not the greatest player in the world. However I do believe I have that I have an eye from telling the good apples from the bad apples so to speak. I think that it is incredibly important to punish the people that ruin the game for others. My activity would allow me to do this frequently as I often spend my free time on Brawl. As the majority of other moderators have moved past the years of high school and as a result have less time to spend watching or playing on the server.

Have you ever used a hacked client before? No I have never used a Minecraft hacked client.

Have you ever been punished(banned, kicked, muted, ect) legitimately on a public Minecraft server?If so, why? Yes, I have one requested ban, 6 autobans, and one warning for a death threat of which I have no recollection of. The requested ban was a joke between a former moderator and only lasted around 20 seconds. The 6 autobans have spanned throughout my entire history on brawl and were random as well as false. I believe the warning for a death threat was a misunderstanding as I am not the person who to wish ill on people over Minecraft capture the flag.
What do you consider your greatest strength? I believe that my greatest strength is my ability to speak for others or take control of a situation when needed. By no means do I wish to silence those around me. I simply wish to help those who are too nervous or frightened to defend themselves or their opinion. When I first joined the community I was shy and did not have the ability to even speak for myself. Being leader and representative of The Crusaders really helped me push past my insecurities and become stronger as an individual. It also helped me to realize when a situation was going wrong and when I should and should not step in to help. Below I stated that my decision making process was slow, despite that it allows me to be fully confident in the result.

What do you consider your greatest weakness? I would consider my greatest weakness the inability to be content with “the grey area” or the middle. I prefer to feel 100% over what decision I decide on, yes or no, good or bad. I believe that maybe or a shrug is just not an adequate response, it leaves too much to be speculated. Although that does not mean I can not live without getting my way, it simply means I need to be 100% content with the decision I make. Which sometimes makes me slow when deciding my course of action.

Which brawl servers(s) are you most active on? I am most active on CTF, especially on weekends. I have school/homework that typically takes up the majority of the day on weekdays, but I can always hop on and set maps or observe a suspicious player.

How many Brawl staff applications have you made in the past? I have made no applications in the past.
What is the date of the last application you submitted? November 25th

Do you have Discord? Yes, my discord is ArcticGalaxy#1392. I am incredibly active and will respond as quickly as my schedule allows.

Anything else you would like to state? I hope this was not too wordy and not a text wall, thank you for your time. I know that this was a serious application but I am not a completely serious person…. I often laugh more than I should. Also birds are wonderful creatures.

Thank you for pointing out how I can improve. I appreciate the constructive criticism because it shows me how I can become better and learn from my mistakes. I again plan to be more active on the forums, reporting players more formally and posting ideas about improving the game mode. Thank you the clarification on the differences between a death wise and death threat, I will not make the mistake again. I will also make a greater effort in expanding my experience of the server by playing on different gamemodes. Thank you for your suggestions, I am always looking for a way to improve.
