    This is an idea I had a couple days ago. Its very strange and it seems ridiculous but could legitimately change the game a little for the better. Imagine an emerald block placed on top of 2 iron blocks placed on top of 1 gold block. This is what i see a vertical tracker as. This will track any players Y coordinate in any dimension (not the end ofc). This would add an exact measure on a players ordinates. So lets make a scenario.

    You have just narrowed somebodies ordinates to a 250x 250 range.
    You use a vertical tracker and get their exact Y coordinate: 25
    You go to the Y=25 level, and mine out a 2D square of the 250x250 base
    There, you have their base without having to use a 1 use or temp

    Disadvantages: these are good, and kinda nerf this tracker so it isn't too op

    For one, this tracker has to be changed through sheer mining / Redstone machinery.
    If someone shows up as U (up) you cannot get exacts that easily, there are some ways I can think of, but over all, you must be on top of the emerald block for this to work

    Another thought, while using a temp tracker (emerald) have a vertical tracker under your emerald, if they show up as NED then they are NE but also down, showing you that their base is underground. All in all, this tracker would really help this game, isn't too op and would be very fun to be tested out with.

    Thank you for your feed back, can you list some reasons why though?

    What if the base is in the mountain? The tracker becomes very OP. Or if the base is in the sky? OP as well.

    I don’t know how to play raid, I’m just trying to think of counter arguments that could add more insight to this idea.

    It may or may not be harder to find X-Ray?

    Because there will be less searching envolved looking for a base, I mean when raiding

    -1, because it would only track in one, of the possible two directions. Moreover, it would be useless for an average tracker, and stupidly op for a good tracker.

    If this was real and you tracked @Tuumai AHHHHHH OMG XRAY HELPPP
    It’s a interesting idea but I feel that it would be to op like to a point where if you have one you could super easily get someone’s chords it would make it a little bit to easy I think we should leave it where people have to actually find bases.

    @AirstrikeXD can you at least give a reason on how its op. You said it was op but never said any reasons. Yes people could complain about xray more, but It would still be solved just as quickly. We could even add a plug in that keeps a record of dates on the cords and times and names of players who use this tracker to give proof of non xray

    It's op but not for the reason you're thinking. You could invest just a couple blocks and know whenever someone warps underground or to a sky bank. With just a couple blocks.

    this could be altered so that it only tracks the Y coord in whatever the X and Z range the tracker has, but I don't think it would change tracking much tbh. Narrowing exact coords takes too long. Just find a good method for digging like me :}
