    Hey Soldiers!

The War team has decided to make quite a few changes to weapons to try to balance the game as much as possible so that it's more friendly to newer players. Because of this, we've tried to make no gun 'better' than another, but made them all unique, with their own perks and pitfalls. We even made the long-awaited ACR nerf!

It has also come to our attention that SMGs have been underpowered compared to the Assault rifle counterparts so we have given them all a scoped fire accuracy buff! Virtually all guns have been changed in some way to be more balanced.

Finally, we have added 3 new maps, Slums, Aftermath, and Village. Please report any OOMs or other issues found on these maps.

    Gun Changes

    SMG Changes:
Mini-Uzi - The Mini-Uzi is now more accurate with scope and hipfire, and deals more damage.
MP5 - Both the scoped and hipfire accuracy of the MP5 have been buffed.
UMP 45 - The scoped accuracy of the UMP 45 has been buffed significantly, the hipfire accuracy was slightly nerfed
MP7 - Both the scoped and hipfire accuracy of the MP7 have been buffed.
P90 - Only scoped accuracy of the P90 has been buffed. Hipfire accuracy was not changed.

    LMG Changes:
MG4 - The damage of the MG4 has been buffed a little, though it is not as strong as it was pre-nerf.
RPK - Both the scoped and hipfire accuracy of the RPK has been buffed to account for its slow firerate.
M240 - Only the scoped accuracy of the M240 has been buffed.
M249 - Only the scoped accuracy of the M249 SAW has been buffed.

    Assault Rifle Changes:
M4A1 - The damage of the M4A1 has been nerfed slightly so that it doesn't dominate all the other guns which were also nerfed.
ACR - The ACR damage has been nerfed so that it is no longer able to 2 shot kill with Stopping Power. The magazine size has also been reduced to 25 instead of 30.
SCAR-H - The scoped accuracy of the SCAR-H has been buffed, but its hipfire accuracy was slightly nerfed. Its magazine size has been reduced to 20.

    Shotgun Changes:
SPAS-12 - The damage of the SPAS-12 was buffed. Its damage is now the same as how Striker was.
AA-12 - The damage of the AA-12 has been nerfed, since it was slightly too strong.
Model 1887 - The hipfire accuracy of the Model 1887 was very slightly buffed.
Striker - The amount of pellets per shot of Striker has been reduced to 6 instead of 8.
Ranger - The amount of pellets per shot of Ranger has been reduced to 6 instead of 8. The hipfire has been nerfed as well. The damage has been buffed to balance out this change a little, but overall the Ranger will be weaker than it was before.

    Sniper Changes:
Dragunov - This gun had its reload time decreased, and it's firerate increased so that it is now able to compete with M21 EBR and MSR.
Barrett .50cal - Firerate has been decreased and magazine size has decreased to 5, but this gun can one shot on bodyshots. Its ammo overall has been decreased. This is basically the new Intervention
Intervention - Firerate has been buffed and its magazine size has increased to 10 but it will no longer one shot on bodyshots except with Stopping Power.

    Pistol Changes:
USP 45 - This gun has received a slight firerate buff
M9 - This gun has gained a small scoped accuracy buff
Magnum - The hipfire of this gun has been increased significantly but its scoped accuracy was decreased.
Deagle - The firerate of this gun has decreased slightly along with its hipfire accuracy but its scoped accuracy has been buffed significantly

Well, nice job on the changes, but I was wondering, if war averages like 2-5 players at a time, then what's the point?

Along with future plans, hopefully the members of the community who stick around but don't play too much will see some updates, and be intrigued to try it out again.

I'm a fan, yall did well. Very happy my children, the smgs, have all received buffs. Only gripe is the fact lem's map wasn't added but hey-ho. i'm sure it will be next time.

If they "rage quit" then would they not think about coming back regardless of the updates? I'm just wondering if this method of changes will really bring back people. In my opinion, it seems kinda too late.

Ice Bear says those people are long gone but the new ones that come on won't have to face that ordeal.

On top of what other staff members have mentioned, this improves the game (and therefore player retention) in preparation for increased advertising.

Ok so you took the intervention, a perfectly balanced gun given that it is the final gun you achieve, and you make it into straight dog****. Then you take the Barrett, which is like a level 15 gun or something, and transform it into the intervention, making it OP as ****.

Okay then, I'll just use Barrett instead of intervention then?
Nope, because the Barrett has 25 ****ing bullets.

Please for God's sake make these guns normal again, because there are only auto-snipers worth using now, which aren't quite my cup of tea.

Ice Bear says the intervention isn't bad at all you get more ammo and a faster firerate at the price of being forced to use SP. Ice Bear says in regards to the barrett 25 ammo is plently for a gun that oneshots on body. Barrett before was useless but now it is finally a decent worthwhile gun for those players who prestige they won't have to wait as long to get their intervention (Barrett) back.

It wasn't even 1 shot with sp before, and now, because of the hit reg, you can get body shots that will deal only 16.5 damage. It's basically just a low tier EBR now. I think it's fair that there should be a sniper in the game, that - with stoppingpower - should be able to one shot at all times, if not just the times the intervention used to.
And also have more than 25 bullets.

The old intervention was perfect, and I think the Barrett should be changed to the current intervention, and the current intervention returned to it's prior perfection.

No sniper on 2.0 (even before this wave of changes) could oneshot everywhere, even with Stoppingpower. Old Intervention did not. If you equip Stoppingpower with new Intervention it's not bad at all (could be considered better than old Intervention) and new Barrett (which has almost exactly the same features as old Intervention but with less ammo) is also not that bad, particularly if you're used to how Intervention was.
