    Hello Mcbrawlers,
As the titles states, i have made the decision to buy a desktop computer [tower] and build it myself due to lots of untrustworthy laptops. I am asking only the experienced in computer building to help me out with this [Or if you have any links to a already recommended builds] Now back to the question, i need some advice on what parts [graphics card, ram, etc...] i should get for the tower of the computer, that can run minecraft [80-200 fps] ,fraps, audacity all at the same time with practically no lag in minecraft what so ever. Please keep in mind i want to keep these prices as cheap as possible [under 900 possibly above] and i do not know much about the tower itself [learning]. I would also like these parts to be able to play minecraft, TF2, or lower profile games on medium-high quality [minecraft with shaders at 30-60fps]. Please again be exact in the parts with a price range, link, etc...

    Thanks

Processor: you should use at least an Intel i5 or any processor similar from other companies.

Motherboard: it depends on what processor you choose, BE SURE TO CHECK COMPATIBILITY between processor and motherboard.

graphics card: If you have any more money you would be willing to spend, here is where you should allocate it. This is the part that affects gaming performance the most.

    Memory(RAM): at least 4, preferrably 8

Storage (HDD/SSD): you will want at least 1 TB for an HDD

Case: You will most likely want an ATX mid or ATX full tower size case with several fans.

Power Supply: Depends on other parts, look up the power consumption for graphics card and processor, then add a bit for the other parts

Optical Drive: The only reason you need one of these is to install the operating system

Operating system: Windows 8 64-bit is what most games are optimized for. But this is mostly based on personal preference.

Ive customized a computer for you. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2erqv

If you would like me to personalize it to you preferences more, message me, I love doing stuff like this.

Looks like i have some time, after looking at your build i would have to say i like it. I have a few questions though... How much fps am i looking at when i run fraps, minecraft at mid settings, and audacity all at once? How much fps will minecraft run on shaders? I was also wondering how much experience you have in building computers or computers in general [just so i can be sure your not giving me false information :grinning:] Lastly, will my computer ever overheat with the case you suggested?

Guagadu's build is very good i must say, although i think instead of the 650 you should get at least a 680.

Why do you say this? Is it because the one he recommended will not be able to comply with my needs in the computer?

I do not know how many FPS you would run, I do, however have some refrence points that you might be able to compare to. My brother has a GeForce GT 745M (about 140% worse than 650 Ti Boost) on his laptop, and he can run Minecraft on high settings while recording with Bandicam at 50-60 FPS, and a friend has the Radeon HD 7950 (about 25% better than 650 Ti Boost) and he runs Minecraft with an FPS limit while recording with Fraps at 120 FPS. both of them run High settings. My experience with computers is heavy research for about 6 months, and now I have bought parts to build my own computer. And I do not know if the computer will overheat, I dont think so, but I have bought the same case, and I have some slightly higher end parts than the parts I refered you to. I can however say that the case comes with 2 large fans in the top, and a medium sized fan at the back.

I know that you will not have a problem with Minecraft though, as it is one of the easiest games to run.

He doesn't need a 680, 680s are more for high-medium games on high settings. A 650 Ti Boost should be enough for his needs. I checked and the 650 is supposed to be able to run battlefield 4 on medium-high settings.

The 650 Ti boost should be good enough for what you want, though I noticed that there is a GPU at a similar price is 15% better. Here I changed the build to the new card: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2eukE

If you want to know, I use game-debate.com for GPU comparison...

I can't thank you more, i am now off to the right track with your help and i learned alot more about desktops in the process. One more question would be, how would that GPU compare to the other?

The 7870 is about 15% better than the 650 for $5 more. Game- debate does a better job describing than me.

I forgot to mention, if you want to do video editing, it would help to have a faster processor, though the processor on the computer I customized for you is already a good one.

Will it run fraps, minecraft, and audacity at the same time with almost no lag?

I'm pretty sure FRAPS isn't compatible with Windows 8, but not entirely sure.

Yes. The only lag you would see is out of the computers control.

I don't know either, I prefer to use Bandicam, because my security hates fraps. I'll check on my brother's computer I make sure.

Can you give me more information? Do you have a defined budget and what do you want your PC to be able to do?
