Looking at the post below this post-wall, I forgot that PSHS exists. I wonder how it manifests in the current generations of former Minecraft server mods. :v (3588)
Yeah, I mean Minecraft was considered a kids game at the time too. Also I'm sure some people lied about how old they were, also found that out in due time. (3602)
Eh, they were one of the server's most dedicated playerbases, so idk. I just think that most people didn't like the gamemodes enough to stick around. That, and a lot of them were tough to break into. There was no skill-based matchmaking in any of the gamemodes, so if you were new, chances were you just joined and died until you left.

Unfortunately that's very true, the skill gap for stuff like wild West, warz, tracking in raid, and ctf mechanics made it rough. Only not full on skill based would be party but even then so, you kinda needed some for certain games. (3610)
Hence why Party did as well/lasted as long as it did. Even today, there are super popular Squid-game-esque games on Steam, and they have some of the same minigames as Party did all those years ago. (3611)
Something underappreciated about legacy War, I think, was that it was basically impossible to cheat effectively at it. At the end of the day, you still had to lead your shots. Tracers didn't matter because of visible nametags, macroing didn't matter since combos weren't a big part of the game, etc. Everywhere else it was hard to keep up with the constant hacking, WarZ and Kitbrawl for example. got invited to a private disc server like 5 years ago with a bunch of current warz mods and smods talking with players that were banned for cheating, ddosing etc
a lot of stuff started making perfect sense when i found out about it
I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Maybe it was different in most of my circles within the staff. Something tells me none of these old war mods and party mods were hacking much. :v (3622)
Just checked how old some of the threads I'm still active on are, and that led me to check this post-chain too. This is over a decade old at this point. That's truly insane. (3630)
I wonder how many alerts @iMacro is going to come back to, assuming he will come back and check again. He was last seen November 28, 2023. So how many times have we posted here since then? (3632)
Yikes, I just checked and this was dead for almost all of 2024. His post was 3560. That means that it hasn't even been 100 posts. We clearly need to up our game if it's been almost two whole years and we haven't posted here a hundred times since then. (3634)
