Think before you act - Moderator Application
People, I know that a lot of you here aspire to become a moderator for our fine servers. Many of you will have applied on the past, or you're planning to. Depending on the feedback you receive you will be encouraged to apply again at a later stage. If this is so; listen to what I have to say.

I have got somethings that you might need to think about before applying, so listen closely, and think about these things next time you're thinking of writing a Mod app.

What does the community think about you?:
    • This is important because even if you do meet the requirements, make sure that you think the community thinks you're a person that can handle the position and be trusted. If you have a history of calling people "no0bs" and hacking/ DDoSing. Then, let's be realistic, you probably are not going to get the vote of many people accept the small few that might not know you very well.

So you consider yourself helpful on the forums?:
    • Being an active forums member means nothing if you're rude and unhelpful to the community. Before applying, make sure that your posts are helpful and always express your ideas fully. Ideas and posts that have a lot of info contained in them are better, and always go for quality instead of quantity. Having 300+ posts is normally the requirement, but there have been the odd case where someone has been accepted with a lower count. Such as: @Hudstorm and @GK01320135780.

Are you actively posting hacker/ rule breaker reports?:
    • One of the things that the admins want in a mod is someone that is good at catching people breaking the rules. if you're actively posting reports in the correct section about these people, it might just get you a few brownie points with the people in-charge.

Are you the right person for the job?:
    • So you may meet all of the requirements, but that does not mean that you will be accepted. For your app to be accepted the admins have to think that you're good and strong enough to handle the position.

    • Another thing to add here is that being a mod is not fun. it can be stressful and it can make certain people regret being chosen for the position. If you're accepted then you have to become a different man/ woman, and sometimes you can end up being someone that you swore that you would never be. When @Pikmin_Hunter was accepted he changed from one of the friendliest and trigger happy raters, to someone that was extremely mature and had too often forgo the luxuries of being the forums friendliest member. When I was accepted I was overjoyed that I had been trusted to moderate WarZ. Now, it's not so fun, and the responsibility has set in and brought me down to earth. I am still trying my best to become a friendly member, but I have to forgo some things that I had before.

    • If you don't have the right mentality for becoming a mod you will never succeed as a mod. Especially WarZ. As you know McBrawl can have quite a rough community sometimes, and this can be difficult for some of the people to handle. If you make one mistake then you can loose all of your friends, you become more of a target for DDoSers and skilled players. So if you don't have a good attitude and a strong will, don't apply.

Why do you want the position of Moderator?:
    • Think about this carefully, some of you will want to help out the community here, an others will want it just for the power. If you're one of the power hungry people it's easy for people to see that, and you stand quite a low chance of being accepted.

    - Thanks all for reading my little idea, if you have any further ideas that I could add in, please feel free to tell me. I am always looking to improve this thread, to give people the best chance of achieving their goal.

I hope new forum members view this before making an application. We've tried to tell them to not make an application when they first join a bunch of different ways but they still do. Hopefully this works.

Not necessary, not everyone joins the forums to apply for mod.
