Renaming clans

So I used to own a clan called AWSM, to which I only invited people I considered myself friends with and wanted to join. For some reason, I forget why since it was several months ago, I left and joined a new one.

Before leaving, I gave it to a non-real life friend, who I've since lost contact with and still owns the clan, although from what I can tell it's renamed to QQQQ and is completely inactive (who would stay in a clan called QQQQ?)
The problem: I want that name back and even though the clan is renamed, AWSM seems to be held in reserve and can't be used, is there a way I could possibly have it back?

(And before you ask, /clan info tells me it doesn't exist, so it isn't already in use.)
