Ways to NOT get DDoS'd

    Question:
    I have been getting very worried about get DDoS'd recently, because my friend, dimitranator, has been DDoS'd today and a few other times. I have never been DDoS'd, and don't plan to. I'm posting this to figure out the ways people can get your IP's and DDoS you. I have already deleted my Skype and removed it form the directory, what are the other ways DDoSers get your IP?

    If your internet connection ever goes directly to them or something they can access, they can acquire your IP.
    Make sure you stay off websites that you're unsure of and use Teamspeak for voice communication.

    On top of that, you should take a look at chickenputty's security guide, specifically the section entitled "Protecting your IP on Skype."
