A Couple of Ideas

Brawl is a great server. We get a lot of people, the games are hella fun and it's all-round awesome. But one thing I think we could do to improve is get more people involved in events and the forums.

At any given time we probably have an average of 500 people on Brawl at the moment? And maybe 30 on the forums? I have two ideas about how we can improve the forums community in terms of numbers.

A. Make some War/WarZ events only accessible through a forums account. People don't want to miss out, they sign up, they see how awesome and fun the forums are. They never leave.

A variation of that is maybe, only announce events on the forums? For all the events, the big announcements have been on the forums but there are little reminders in-game. If we take away those reminders, yeah some people might get mad if they miss an event or two. But then they'll start checking the forums regularly to see when another event is coming. They'll branch out into other areas and then they'll become addicted, just like the rest of us.

B. There are hundreds upon hundreds of MinecraftParty players every day. Yet it's forums section is scarcely bigger than fpshg's. I'm proposing more events for MinecraftParty. I don't know much about the gameplay, I haven't followed it, so I don't really know what kind of events would be right for this server, but there should definitely be some. And more advertisements for the forums! List the benefits! Don't just give a link and say 'here that's the forums', no one is joining. Tell them about our great community! The intense discussions! How you can learn all about these servers! Our community will grow massively if we can get even a tiny portion of our daily MinecraftPartiers to join the forums.

 

Wow, I had no idea it was so high. If you'd have asked me, I would've put it more at maybe 8%.
You have some good points there, I'll certainly have to rethink some of these ideas. How about registering on the forums can be similar to voting? For example, you get grenades on War, you get tps/ender chest on WarZ?

I see what you mean about Party, and I guess it is kinda redundant to try and improve its forums community.

War definitely has a good forums community, and I'm really liking the way WarZ forums have been improving some players' maturity. It makes me happy to see players I'd thought of as immature and childish in-game actually contributing on the forums.

I guess there really isn't any point in pushing players to join the forums...

Just another idea about helping improve our community is more information about TS3. I've made so many friends over Teamspeak and I'm sure lots of other players have too, but lots of new players don't really get what Teamspeak is.

I probably spent at least half a year playing MC-War without realising what it was. I wasn't sure if it was a website or a server or...? Every day I see new players asking me what Teamspeak is. Maybe some more informative/detailed announcements about it would help?

Just an idea, these are just popping out of my head and I'm writing 'em down right away.
