guide to be a boss

ORGANIZATION:
what to keep: cobblestone, wood, lava buckets, ender pearls, axes, swords, armor, other tools, POTIONS OF ALL SHAPES AND SIZES! (besides invisibility and speed) bows and arrows, steak - the rest is junk to me but you might need it at some point, better safe than sorry!

your inventory should look something like this:

keep your weapons, effect giving items, building blocks and at least one lava bucket in the hotbar and don't stay in your inventory too long.

Stay away from these items as these will screw you over when used:

POTIONS OF INVISIBILITY

POTIONS OF SWIFTNESS

In the small amount of running space and the fact that you are ALWAYS at risk for falling OOM speed is useless.
Invisibility requires you take off your armor to work so....... NO.

ALLIANCES:
I wouldn't. If you do, STAB THEM IN THE BACK WHILE THEY ARE LOOTING!!!!! This is not a game for making friends, but if you're playing with your friends go for it.

THE CENTER ISLAND:
Loot the hell outta that thing but keep watch for others that will be coming for you. The reason I keep my lava buckets is so you can prevent other people from taking potentially good items that might make you meet your demise.

Reduce the center chest room or area to this:


STRATEGY:
Get to the middle ASAP right after you loot your own chests and then build up. Get the high ground and force them to come to you, but don't just let them come, a potion of poison is very effective in encouraging a retreat. If you can't get to the middle because another powerful player has dug in build around to the other starting islands and scavenge useful discarded items until its just you and them. Again potions of poison are great for taking points as well as defending them. Anticipate battle! take a potion of regeneration or a golden apple when you decide to hunt someone down. Remember golden apples add 2 hearts to your starting health which can be the difference between life and death. If you have a bow don't waste it on people entrenched in the middle or attackers with firm grounding, your biggest fear in battle is the ground falling out from under you so try to shoot them off their 1 block wide roads to other islands. Don't try to mine for resources in your island, only if diamonds are visible and you do not yet have a diamond sword should you mine. All the items you should need will either be found in chests or drop off players. Axes, they do only 1/2 heart less than the sword of their type so if you have a stone sword and a diamond axe, use the axe. Remember that a stone axe = a wood sword, a iron axe = a stone sword and a diamond axe = an iron sword.
