Make sure you read this thread.

I also suggest viewing other successful applications and notice what they did good on and try and implement that into your application.

Stay active and be friendly, you'll do fine!

Make sure your active on the 3 services mentioned in the applications. (Servers, Forums, Teamspeak) This is the most basic of requirments but also the critical one.

Other than that, completely immerse yourself in the server you plan on applying for, make sure you know all there is to know about the server. This can be done by reviewing the server wiki, talking and playing with other players on the server and reading forum discussions regarding the server.

I've already done all of theses, I am active in all 3 fields. Forums, Teamspeak and in game. Any tips on handling stubborn rule breakers on McWar?

Use good grammar and spelling. Be mature and active. Don't post on the forums just to post.

Be active on all three fields. However this simple sentence can be a bit misleading as people may take the assumption admins only care if you are 300+ posts. Speaking intelligently and contributing to discussions with 250 posts is a lot better than 900+ posts of which three fourths are blindly typed posts with the only reason to post is to increase post count. I was accepted below 300 posts, and so were a few others, but that shouldn't mean you should skimp your post count and hope for acceptance just because you wrote one good guide and later apply for mod with 1 posts. Also, if someone writes something good, don't say "I agree.". Don't just write for the sake of writing, write with a reason. What do you agree with? What do you not? What would you change to their idea?

since I lost my train of thought, I'm just going to put bulletpoints.

    • Be mature and smart. No one wants to mod a guy that can't be serious nor someone who doesn't know what he's talking about.
    • Good grammar that flows. When you are writing on the forums formally, u do not want t o type liek dis. It just doesn't look right. I've seen mods write with "u" instead of "you" in response to mod applications and it doesn't reflect what they are capable of writing. Also, avoid silly mistakes like writing, "they're mod app was good." This is written incorrectly, and "they're" should be replaced with "their."
    • Be helpful. Now, don't go all tryhard and ask everyone in a server if they need help. If you see someone that needs help, such as how to report a hacker or how to do a simple command, offer them your help. The most essential part of a mod is to help the community.
    • Don't lean back once you get mod. Don't be that guy that stops being exemplary once they get mod, be better than what you were before you got mod. A mod's job is to moderate and help, if you're going to decide not to do either of those, resign.
