Pit or no Pit? Forcefield Wall, Barrier, or Enclosing? These are some common questions with new changes happening in HG!
I would like to give my opinon on the matter.

    I am FOR Pit:
I like the Pit because, if we didn't have Pit then all games would be 1-2 hours long, which is way to long! At the same time, I think Pit ruins the ending for those who are trapping or towering believing they can kill the last player left because it gives a way for the ones being trapped to not have to fight them but instead just to wait till Pit. However, I think having long games would slightly outweigh the Pit for trappers or towerers.

    I am FOR Forcefield Barrier:
I am for the Barrier because we need to have some limit on how far people can go so it is not annoying traveling across the map to get the next person. Players should take damage when passing the forcefield because it IS the forcefield, you shouldn't be able to go past it without taking some sort of punishment, ruling out the Wall idea. Plus the wall makes the game a lot more laggier when you have to load this big wall in your chunks. However, with the Barrier it allows forcefield traps which can be annoying, but this could be adjusted if we added the Barrier. I like the enclosing Forcefield idea because it is realistic to the actual Hunger Games and I think it could work if it is set a slow rate. However, this also ruins the strategy for trappers and towerer because most trappers and towerers like to stay far out from everybody else but with the enclosing Forcefield this makes them do the opposite. Plus, it is a hassle having to move their tower or trap when the enclosing forcefield gets near. This also allows the better pvpers, better geared, or stronger players to dominate in HG.

I believe in having somewhat fairness in all strategies.

Give me your feedback!!! Your opinion could change my opinion! If it doesm I will edit this post!
Can't wait for HG to be officially released with all it's new changes!!!

I'm a trapper, and all your ideas are anti-trap. I don't get fun from PvP, so I think there needs to be a healthy balance. The forcefield coulds till have the texture but do damage if passed. People just need their head screwed on right if they're winning, they need to play safe. The pit is fine IMO but needs to be later like maybe an hour or so.

How are my ideas anti-trap? With the Barrier it is actually for trapping.

Just to be clear here, when you say wall do you mean a big giant wall like full of blocks stopping you from going any further or a little wall but you can see through it and once you go past it you take damage.

I don't see the point in having the pit. 95% of games end before the pit, and some people just wait around for the pit to happen if they don't want to face traps. The only way I can see a game going for too long (over 1 hour), is if people just use mobility kits such as grappler to keep running away (WHICH IS WHY MOBILITY KITS NEED TO BE REMOVED!). In the rare occurrence of a game going on for over an hour, I think an admin can just get on and tell the players to hurry up. (Like in 2012)

The mobility kits were used to get around faster to player to player but people have changed it to running. Doesn't mean it needs to be removed just changed. With the new re-release of HG I believe each game would be around 60-100 players which would cause games to go longer which was the cause of the pit forming in the first place. Telling a player to hurry up won't do anything that much anymore. No one likes playing over 1 hour long games so why should they? By the way, I touched on the fact that players use it as a counter to traps.

In my opinion, I prefer the pit to an enclosing forcefield. I feel the forcefield closing in is too restrictive towards traps/towers as most of these are far out of the map anyway, and with the pit people at least have time to try out their trap/tower since it is 60 mins.

I have played around 40 games on mcbrawl so far. Not a single one has gotten even relatively close to the pit. If you believe that mobility kits have a place in HG, then you sir are wrong. If you think about it, the only way to really avoid teams, is running. When teams are using mobility kits, there is no way for solo players to run away. Mobility kits make teams far too overpowered. That is the main reason they need to be removed.

Remove Barrier Wall. Removes the sudden surprise in the game.

Remove Pit but I hardly believe anyone would choose that option so instead

Keep Pit but game continue forever until someone dies.

Barrier Wall will be added to prevent running outside the pit.

The barrier wall is great. About the pit...I liked the old pit design with the hole. The new one isn't really a pit, but a battlefield. I would like the old pit where people spawn at the bottom though. Let the games go on for 60 minutes as usual though.

Enclosing! Way better option than the pit, allows for some slack in playing style.

The pit just favors the guy with better stuff, usually the feast winner.

Like I said, people have changed how mobility kits are used.

An enclosing forcefield will make everyone else closer to the better pvper/geared players who are still alive, therefore favoring them.

I like barrier blocks that close in slowly over time. Also, I think the size of the arena should be determined by the amount of players, so games don't drag on. For example, a 20-player game's arena would be smaller than one with 100 players.

but then anyone whos smart at the beginning who make bases near the forcefield to prevent players who try to hunt them down instantly will die automatically. Which would then favor anyone whos on the hunt. You need to remember that the game cant favor anyone.

Don't make a base on the edge then lol
I'm talking about making it slowly move in.

If you are a solo trapper making any solo trap is near impossible with tons of hunters hunting you down. So No it has to be somewhere near the edge

With 100 playeres in the game, with the mechanics I said, the map would be huge, and slowly closing. ~1 block per minute at the start, ~1 block per 5 seconds later on (an hour or two).
