Stationary machine gun

    Well, ladies and gentlemen, I had a good night's sleep recently, and I can finally think rather clearly, or at least, without hallucinating that there are multiple chocolate coconuts hanging from my celing screaming "The walls are made of Lava!" and such, y'know, the usual hallucinatary things. And so, my overly brilliant cranium has allowed me to fathom the ingeniousity of another idea I recently thought of, as can be seen in the title of this thread.
    The idea here is that there is a, well, stationary machine gun, as part of the map. it would basically be a minigun, except it has infinite/huge ammo reserves, and slighty increased accuracy compared to the minigun, as it is not "Handheld". To access it you stand by it and a minigun item appears in your inventory, and you right click with it, and your inventory is wiped and a minigun added. The player using said stationary machine gun is unable to move or jump, until they click another item to regain their inventory and no longer have the minigun.
    Wait, what's that? I hear Sonicluke2000? What? Yeah, this does sound rather overpowered, doesn't it? Woo, mind the language, Luke! Well, the player could have less health, but the main thing that stops this from being too OP is that the Stationary Machine Gun can only fire for 5 seconds maximum, before it has to cool down, which takes 7 seconds or so to do so entirely, but the STMG can be fired after 3 seconds cooling down, obviously only for one second, but that definitely lessens the angry screams of the mobs of people shouting "Bad idea, Sasht!"

    dont you think this would be a really costy perk instead

    Not entirely sure how that would work, but maybe you can only access them if you have that perk/donator ability, which seems rather fair
    Or you only get limited abilities as a non-donator, e.g. it uses your own ammunition, or it takes 10 seconds to cool down
    Also, another brainwave, the heat of the gun is shown where the armour (armor for the 'muricans) bar is, and that texture is changed to a green-yellow-red bar.

    There's my killstreak reward in CoD games called the sentry gun, which sounds awfully similar to what you're saying. However, other than that, good idea!

    Well, main difference here is that the STMG is a strategic and very controlled, whereas the Snow Golem idea is more... uncontrolled, but I think both could make an interesting addition
    Also, if the STMG sucks, it can be buffed/debuffed, or removed entirely rather easily.

    It would be nice, positions would actually be holdable with these, instead of lack of firepower allowing a rush of opponents

    yeeeah... it wouldn't be as OP as either a nuke or EMP, because you can't move with it
