    Brawl Junior Moderator Application:

Have you read over this thread? -
I have many times, along with a several other accepted applications.

What is your in-game name? - BobBuilds

Have you changed your name in the past? If you have, please list them. - creeperbob18, LeBob_

Does anyone else have access to your Minecraft account? -
No. I haven't given out my password/account details to anyone.

How old are you? - 14, born on August 26, 2000.

What time zone are you in?
    - EST (UTC -4:00, I live near Columbia, SC)

Are you multilingual? Can you speak multiple languages? -
In a way, yes. This upcoming school year, freshman year, I will be taking my fourth and final year of Latin. I can have a thorough conversation in the language. However, Latin is practically a dead language, so I highly doubt this will be much help. Other than that I know minimal French and Spanish, and obviously speak fluent English.

What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft? -
I started playing Minecraft back in late 2012 to early 2013. I was introduced by a friend who barely plays Minecraft anymore. I was intrigued by such a blocky game so I got it for myself. Back then, I had no recollection of multiplayer servers, so I stuck to singleplayer. The closest thing to multiplayer I got until Spring 2013 was opening my singleplayer world up to LAN and build and play with my brother and friends. However, this got to be extremely boring after a while and I wanted to play different gamemodes and with more than 3 or so people. So, I browsed through the internet trying to find a decent multiplayer server, and I was hooked when I saw this server called PistonMC. All it had at the time was a creative small plot server and something similar to KitBrawl. I played this server for a solid 3 months but wanted more. I did some more searching and found Brawl. The idea of Call of Duty in Minecraft seemed genius to me at the time, so I decided to try it out. As you can tell by my level in Mc-War, level 11, I didn't play for long. But Brawl had lots of other gamemodes, too! I tried Creative, fpsHG, Party, WarZ, etc. The two that stuck were Creative and Party. If I was on Brawl, I was playing one of those two - Creative about 80% of the time and Party about 20%. When I was introduced to forums by a lovely programmed message saying to become a member on the forums, I immediately applied for Creative ranks. I thought I was the coolest guy ever then because I had AdvBuilder on Creative, but soon realized it wasn't that great of an accomplishment. After a while on Creative I just switched over to playing Party for a little while, before Skywars came out on Brawl. Skywars was my new favorite gamemode. It was a simple game, but indeed very addicting. This took up most of my time on Brawl in 2014. At the beginning of this year, 2015, I layed off of playing Minecraft for a while, and stayed away long enough to completely miss the merge. The new servers that Brawl had bought from McPVP seemed amazing. In fact, I play a little bit of each server still today. For a while, Build was my favorite gamemode, and played it all of the time for about a month (it was good enough to make me change my name to what it is now, BobBuilds). I never really caught onto HG or CTF, and rarely ever play them. But Party and Skywars were still here on Brawl so I play those the most nowadays. This is basically my experience/knowledge about Minecraft without mentioning several other servers I played/co-owned. I played some very popular servers here and there and also some very unpopular servers, but stuck with Brawl because in my opinion it has a perfectly sized community. Not too many players where I wont have a say in anything, but not too small of a community where there is less than 100 players. I will mention the servers I co-owned in the next question.

What is your experience with moderating servers, if any? -
I don't have too much of a vast experience with moderating servers, but I think I have enough to qualify for moderating Brawl.

I co-owned a server that my friend and I made where we both tag teamed on the rent. We downloaded several plugins including WorldEdit, NoCheatsPlus, LaggRemover, ClearLagg, Essentials, PermissionsEx, etc. I had the ability ban and mute players. We shut down the server because after a while we only averaged about 3-4 people on at a time.

I was an administrator on a friend who plays Brawl's server and I have the ability to kick, ban, mute, etc. This is a small server and doesn't get a lot of players but is still up and running. I rarely get on this server anymore, as I am more dedicated to Brawl.

Even though these were both small servers, it gave me an pretty good idea of what it was like to moderate and how to moderate well.

What will you provide to the community if you are provided moderator status? -
I will provide a safe and calm environment for everyone to enjoy. I will being doing my best to eliminate any hackers, rule-breakers, spammers, etc. If anyone needs something, I will be eager to answer their question and help them.

Have you ever used a hacked client before? -
I never have and don't plan on using one ever.

Have you ever been banned on a Minecraft server? If so, why? -
No, and once again, don't plan on doing anything to get me banned from one.

What do you consider your greatest strength? -
My greatest strength is the amount of time I can provide for this position. As you can see later on, I gave a rundown on my activity on Brawl and I actually think I am one of the most active players, in certain areas of course. Along with activity comes dedication. For a year and a half now I have been with Brawl and haven't found any other servers even close to this one. I am dedicated to this server and will be all the way until the day I quit Minecraft.

What do you consider your greatest weakness? -
My greatest weakness is my competitiveness. Yes, this can be a good thing at times but I really want to win, and I mean really want to win. This shouldn't be a problem because I can control myself and I surprisingly don't make any sounds when I die, lose, etc.

How active do you consider yourself on Brawl? -
I consider myself to be very active on Brawl. Lets take a rundown through the 3 different things associated with Brawl:

    In-game
I'm playing the different servers on Brawl almost all hours of the day. This is the one I am most confident about regarding activity since I am on for at least 7 hours a day. If I had to rate myself on this category from 1-10, I would give a 9.

    Forums
I am on Brawl forums for an average of 2-3 hours a day. Though I only have 350+ posts, I feel like most of those posts were helpful. When I'm posting I try to keep it as on track as possible and stay away from flame wars, arguments, and such. To rate myself from 1-10, I would give an 8.

    Teamspeak 3
I find myself on Teamspeak quite a lot actually. If you haven't seen me around it could be time zones or just me only using either the Party, Skywars, or Build channels. I would give myself a 7 out of 10 on this one.

Which Brawl servers are you most active on?
    -
I am most active on Party, Skywars, and Build. However I play a little bit of HG, CTF, WarZ, and War.

How many hours can you provide a day and during what time frame? -
I can provide anywhere from 7-13 hours a day during the summer, and once school starts back up (about 3 weeks from now), I can provide about 1-4 hours a day. The time frame during the summer is anywhere from 10:30am - 11:30pm EST, with occasional breaks. The time frame during the school year is anywhere from 6:00pm - 10:00, with one or two breaks.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule in-game? -

Hacking/Cheating/Glitching - First of all, if someone's hacking, there will most likely be hackusaters. So, I would tell anyone who is hackusating to please refrain from doing so, as it doesn't help and is breaking a server rule. Now to the actual hacker, I would open up my recording software and start recording him/her. I would proceed to send the video to an SMOD+ so they can properly deal with it.

Spamming - First off, I would tell the person to stop spamming. If they keep doing it I will mute them for 1-10 minutes depending on the severity of it. If it so severe that it is causing people to get very frustrated, I will kick the spammer from the server. This whole time I will be taking screenshots in case that player tries to get out of what he/she did.

Advertising/Vulgar Language/Caps - First, I would warn the player not to do any of the things mentioned in the sub-title for this. If it is so severe it causes ruckus on the server, I would kick the offender from the server and prune the chat. Once again, I would take screenshots just in case the offender feels like he/she is treated wrongly.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule on the forums? -

18+ Content and Material - If there was a thread with any profane material, I would lock the thread and report it to higher up staff members.

Grave-dig - If a thread is over 30 days old and someone decides to post on it, I would immediately lock that thread for grave-dig.

Flaming - If a thread came up with flame I would ask the members involved in the flame to please stop doing so and if they kept it up, I would lock the thread.

Question Answered/Duplicate Thread - I combined these because I would handle these two types of threads in basically the same way. If the question was answered and the maker of the thread is happy, then I would lock the thread. If it was a duplicate thread, I would give the link the the other thread talking about the same thing and then lock the thread.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule on TS3? -

Posting 18+, Screamers, or Gore Links - The first time it happens, I will warn them to not post these types of links. The second time it happens, I will warn them again plus tell them that if they don't stop I will kick them from Teamspeak. If they keep doing it for a third time, i will kick them from the server. After that, if they keep doing it, I will increase the kick up a certain level every time, and if necessary, alert a higher up staff member.

18+ or Gore Avatar - First time I see it, I will ask the player to remove the avatar. Second time I see it, I will ask again, a bit more strictly this time and tell them that if they don't change/get rid of it, I will kick them. If it still isn't removed or was removed then immediately put back, then I will kick the player from Teamspeak, but they'll be able to come right back on. If this player continues to not take away the avatar, I will increase the amount of time kicked up a certain level every time, and if necessary, alert a higher up staff member.

Voice Changer - If a player is using a voice changer, the first time I hear it I will ask them to stop using it. The second time I will be more strict when asking and tell the player that I will mute/kick him/her if they don't stop. The third time is a mute and i will tell the player why they were muted. After that, I will keep increasing the punishment until the player learns their lesson (kick them). If a higher up staff member is needed, I will alert them.

Crunching, Yelling, or Breathing into Microphone - If a player is doing this, I will tell them to stop the first time he/she does it. The second time I will be more strict and tell the player that I will mute/kick him/her if they don't stop doing it. The third time the player does this I will mute them and inform them why I did so. After that, if the player keeps doing it, I will increase the punishment until he/she refrains from doing it (kick them). If a higher up staff member is needed, I will alert them.

Excessive Vulgar Language - The first time a player does this, I will ask them to stop using vulgar language. The second time someone does this, I will be more strict in asking and tell him/her that I will mute/kick them if they continue. The third time someone uses this kind of language, I will mute them and tell them why they were muted. From there, I will increase the punishments accordingly (kick them). If a higher up staff member is needed, I will alert them.

Using a Soundboard - If a player is using a soundboard in a public channel, I would ask them to stop using it and suggest going to the Music/Recording Channel to do so. The next time they do it i would ask again in a more strict nature and actually move them to the Music/Recording Channel. After that, if the continue to do it when they come back, I would mute them, and tell them why they were muted. If they come back from the mute still using the soundboard, I would kick them for a certain amount of time.

Situation (as a staff member): You log on Brawl, and you’re told that there is a huge, game-breaking economy glitch. No Admins are online to solve the situation. What steps would you take to handle the issue? - I would first ask to see what is going on and ask for proof, too. Then, I would alert the Admins about this game breaking economy glitch. I would remain calm the entire time, as the server is currently in my hands at that point. I would remain at the scene until an Admin can get on to help up. While I wait for an Admin, I would continue to moderate and answer as many questions about the glitch as humanly possible.

How many Brawl staff applications have you made in the past? - This is my first.

What is the date of the last application you submitted?
    - N/A

Do you have a working microphone? - Yes.

Are you able to record and upload videos?
    -
I am. I use QuickTime Player sometimes and Jing the other times. I am able to record with 30+ fps.

Do you generally know how all the staff member commands work? -
    I do.

    As a Trial/JMOD:

    In-game
/kick - up to an hour
/mute - up to an hour
Might not be using this ever but /fp [map]_gamemode - only for Mc-War
    /prune - clears chat

    Forums
Lock and disapprove threads in a certain sub-section.

    Teamspeak
    Kick from room or server
    Ban (up to an hour)
Assign server groups (Muted, Chat Muted, Push-to-Talk, Jailed)

Not only do I just know the commands, but I know the right times to use them, too.

I also referred to this thread to learn a bit more.

Anything else we should know about you? -
Not really! When I'm not playing Brawl I'm either playing with my dog (chocolate lab) or playing baseball. I made my high school JV baseball team as an eighth grader and I'm a pitcher! I pitched in all but 3 of our 16 games and my team went 10-6. I also play travel baseball with a group of kids my age. We travel all over the country, our most memorable tournament being in Cooperstown, NY. It's a week long tournament where each team has there own barrack that they bunk/sleep in. That part may not sound the greatest but it's great if you want to spend a week with a bunch of sweaty and smelly kids. I also enjoy food. My favorite being orange chicken, America's version of Chinese food. I think I could eat my body weight in orange chicken. Along with eating food, I like to cook, too.

I've played with you and you're brother in game before, you guys are both nice players, no doubt I think you deserve a chance at jmod.

In game: You're active and nice, the only thing I could ask is if you were a bit more helpful, but I'm sure that if I wasn't on you would. +1
