    The old backpacker kit and crafter kit should be combined to be a brand new kit because it the two kits are kinda underpowered by themselves. Together, though the kit could actually be pretty useful. Plus, the kits kinda seem like it could go together anyway.

    I think this can be made useful coz the crafting things can be put into the backpack, so it doesn't take up too much space

    Agreed, would make for good utility kit, as neither of them are too useful. I'd combine them into two items one for the furnace and crafting table, and the other for the chest. That way it'd be easy to access and store soup/other goodies.
