    My current build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/47svNG
Problems: Right now, my computer has really slow load times for games; and generally it's performance is low, for rendering, and really anything that isn't directly gaming, I can't record at high frame rates, these aren't things I built it for, which I expected, but it's time now, that I make one that can do all of the above.

I've considered just putting in another 8GB of memory, maybe getting a new video card, and in the future, replacing my CPU, but my power supply is getting pretty old, and I'd hate for it to fry two weeks after I get the upgrades in.

So I've come up with a new build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/J6bJ3C

    Any suggestions? Comments? Concerns?

    Looks good except one thing.
    If you're gonna upgrade from a r9 290 to a gtx 9x0 go for the 970.
And add a ssd if you're getting slow load times.

I have an SSD now, and it doesn't do much.
I'm going with NVIDA for the better quality product, more commonly used, better support, better drivers [I actually don't know about that, but ASUS's drivers are terrible], and I think my video card right now, is better than I need it to be.

Going to a 960 from a 290 doesn't make sense to me (yes I saw your comment above). Also, how full is your ssd?

More memory wouldn't have helped you much.

To get fast game play and rendering, get the best video/graphics card you can.

Use an SSD for your games, really speeds up game loading time.

How old is your PC? I've fixed many a slow PC for people because their computer just needed a fresh start. Hidden malware could also be slowing it down. Possible, but I unlikely.

I have an SSD on this computer now. It doesn't help my load times, adds a lot of money to the build, that really doesn't pay off.

I might end up using that though... @supercraft002

I don't think the problem with my computer is my video card. It's pretty powerful, and I haven't ever had trouble with it, my new build should actually downgrade my video card, which is what I want. The problem with my current computer, isn't malware either: https://gyazo.com/2376ec52a263a3075675bfcc51c8d13e

If you can't immediately find. the problem, start elimination variables. If you do a system wipe, that will eliminate any software issues so you can focus on hardware problems
