The USP45

Evil here with another Evil-licious gun review on "the Heckler & Koch USP45."

@StarZBlueZ asked me to do a gun review and feature one of his favorite weapons.

The USP45 is your entry level pistol. Anyone remember being a new player? Anyone?

It has a decent magazine and round capacity (12+ 20) for Semi-Auto firing. The USP45 provides the least amount of damage for pistols in its class. The damage is 25 and considered very low for a pistol.

This weapon is really a low powered .9mm vs the .45 cal in the USP45 name. Your weapons is a secondary weapon and meant to assist you as you take down more experienced players while alternating between your primary weapon.

This weapon is best used in flanking, head to head (short and medium distances) and you'll want to use this and your pistol when clearing rooms.
- Pair this up with Scavenger and Super Armor and you might hurt someone feelings…this weapon is under powered and considered a beginners weapon.
- When using the USP45 you will want to put yourself in the role as that of a Tomb Raider. It is adequate for clearing rooms and close range at the point of attack but once you are able to move up to the next weapon, you will want to do that.

- Your weakness is being out in the open, faster shooting opponents with more powerful weapons. Ideally, you will want to shoot down range, where your shots have the best opportunity to fly and hit multiple opponents.
- Your keys to success include: stealth, working like a SWAT team officer (or a Tomb Raider) through buildings, hallways, and clearing rooms.

Ideally, you'll want to be surrounded by your team at the point of attack. You can hold off enemies if you are able to bottleneck them. Bottleneck spots allow you to keep them dense where your Primary weapon and your USP45 can do the most damage.


One of the most famous users the USP45……. none other than the Tomb Raider the amazing Laura Croft.





A brief overview from Wiki: Heckler & Koch USP Match


The signature pistols of Lara Croft (Angelina Jolie) in the film are Heckler & Koch USP Match with stainless slides. The handguns are 9mm models, not .45 ACP as previously believed. This is evident as throughout much of the film, Lara's USP's are equipped with JetFunnels (H&K's fancy name for flared magazine wells) which are not available for the .45 version and the corresponding 18-round 9mm magazines. As in the original videogame, she keeps her handguns prominently holstered on her thighs and almost always draws them both at the same time. She also carries custom mag holders to facilitate quicker reloading of both handguns.







In my universe, I see the USP45 as Laura Croft’s gun…..the gun in my texture pack is the exact same one Laura Croft uses. Dang, I'm good!

Here is the link to @MafiaFerret 's video on how to wreck people with the USP45......or at least try too. (Go all Brazilian Commando?). If you don't remember, Mafia Ferret was one of the best players of all time... Do they even have Commando’s in Brazil? I don’t know I’m guessing they do. I do know they have hot chicks though, way hot, back on topic.

Anyway, he gave it a go and you can watch his video below....his commentary is funny!

Here are critiques to watch for when watching the video:

1) When using the pistol, it was out in the open and there were multiple shooters engaging at the same time. With this type of gun you want to engage shooters when they are shooting at others and not at you (if possible). It is also helpful to work with the team in front of you as a resource rather than the first shooter at the point of attack.

2) Not much stealth, just running into the fray, firing off some rounds, and getting dusted. This type of gun is better for serving as a support role where a clear line of sight is available. You will want to hide behind walls or cover and let off a few rounds at a time from a flanking attack (on their side), not straight on.

3) Areas that could have been improved, engaging choke points from cover or from the side, stealth moves, not engaging from the front but more of from the side or in a group with others, using the group the draw the main fire while picking off stragglers from an angle (not directly).



The table above shows that the firing rate is third highest for all pistols at 150 Rounds Per Minute. It has a relatively fast reload time compared to its class and provides the least amount of damage to an enemy in close range. Think of it this way 2x USP rounds equal 1x Python round.

When playing Infect with this weapon, you will want to be in in the air shooting down in defensible area where you have a clear line of sight. This will help you hold off multiple zombies during the next zombie apocalypse. You will want to be in support of Ray guns and assist when they are reloading.
