Hey there brawl, as many of you know I'm a bit over analytical. I enjoy looking at individual games of war and noting common locations of hostiles, allies, and more importantly the battle lines.
Because I won't be back on the brawl servers until at least the end of April, I've been interested in hearing how (if at all) the server's character has changed.
Frankly, I'd like to hear your observations on the way games tend to go in terms of space (map control, battle lines, etc.) in general. Regardless of time.
For example: how was the way map control worked in old brawl different from how it is now?

Back in the days you did your thing and just keept on reking nubs all day long, no one could stop you if you wasnt on server 1.
So in other words, everyone(not everyone...) was bad back in the days and just grouped up in big hordes that someone with a law took down with one buller or two. It was pretty epic. And you cant do this without looking at the amount of players that is on, when its 70 players the server is so different from 30.

Most of the way in which War is played currently has not gravely changed.

In general players will follow the path most obvious, or will follow others in hopes of reaching the enemy. The "battle line" will always lie in an area where a barrier separates the two sides, for Ex: The long road in ambush is always occupied by both teams.
One location will usually become occupied by one team if there is the presence of that one player who is able to find a good spot and dominate the terrain (Like the little porch inside the building in summit gives (I think it was red team?) access to the entire building, leaving blue stuck outside.

I'm over-analytical too, and my brain (I don't think) ever takes a break.
But really? You analyze battle lines in war?
I understand why you would do this, but in Mc-War? Really? Is this of any use at all?

like oh man i gotta strategize different tactics to kill players using my knowledge of everything in war gotta draw a map of my battle plan anybody got any nice pins, any fancy pen lying around
we gotta look professional people how are people going to know that we are master strategists

Just kill people, the location of people and battle lines, needless to say, is unnecessary.

Yes I have a mental picture of the map's controlled regions when I play. I enjoy noting when one side has collapsed and reinforcing it.
I don't think about it, it's not like I sit down and crunch numbers, it's all mental. A side effect from being on the autism spectrum I guess

O nice, most people just kill and then emp and then nuke
and then it's just like woahhhh I nukeddd I just did a virtual hiroshima on people that could be halfway across the world

I guess your underlying visual aid brings some order to war.
Mc-War is just a ****show, it's just kill some people and then kill some more people and then hope you get an emp but then die and then start over but with different events in each resurrection

in all honesty war is pretty fun with all these drones in the air I don't have to do anything, I can be The Pedestrian pretty much, comfortable, reliant on technology to fuel our degenerate lives, our unfilled, inherently substance-less lives, and then the screen
    screen beckons
    Screen.
    Screen.
    Screen.
    Screen.

    SCREEN.

    screen.

the parlor waits for you talk with them talk with the walls they pull you in deeper it's comforting, fall into its embrace, become impersonal with yourself, become one with the screen, one with the world.
    become a monster
    listen to the sea-shell
    look at the fireworks
listen to the talk of the people in the nothing in the walls
    listen.
    Hear. Nothing received.

    Man, technology is nice.
    the next generation is dead

I prefer to think of this as fields of fire down range.

    - The ability to control choke points and spawn that really can make a game good or bad.

Control a point or spawn and the other team is in trouble.
